Blaire felt a pang in her heart. What was going on?
“Well, at least it’s nice that you had traditions with your dad. Me and my parents we just have normal family outings. Nothing special, even though everyone thinks its like, automatically special to go on fancy trips and dinner parties. I’ve pretty much gotten used to it by now…” Oh no. She was reflecting on herself. Was she actually falling for him already? No, he’s just a cute boy, and her friends would be proud that she got someone like him. That’s all…
Blaire listened to him talk about the movies he had. She found herself sort of in a daze with her hand under her chin, nodding every few seconds. Was this how it was to like smart guys? Or was he just perfect?
When he asked her which movie she wanted to watch, she thought of the second one he mentioned. Or was it the third one? She wasn’t really paying attention while getting lost in his brown eyes.
“I think we should watch the Midnight one, was it? It sort of sounds like the movie Pretty Woman. Me and my mom watched it together, like three times.” She laughed and scooted closer. “You know, a lot of people say I look like Julia Roberts.” She smirked and straightened her posture. Maybe only three people have said that, but that was still enough for Blaire.
When the movie was at the 14 minute mark Blaire decided to stand up and offer her hand.
“I would like to have a dance with you.” Blaire truly felt like she was the woman in the movie now, or just in a movie in general. She never thought this moment would happen. It felt like a dream. A mysterious smart boy who she just so happens to meet at a museum and now they’re going to go dance? It felt like they were the only ones in the world. Where’s the jazz music when you need it?
