Okay, I can’t let this go because I feel bad about it. Alright, so driving on the road and you look to your left to see an ELDERLY MAN collapsed and see two YOUNG PEOPLE (TEENS,) riding on their bikes, PASSING THE ELDERLY MAN, who is still sitting on the floor, trying to get up. Either he fell because he was dehydrated or something else. It really bothers me to see that our young people are not respecting the elderly and not helping out (some do and some don’t’). As for me, I felt so bad watching that while INSIDE THE CAR and looking around to see if I had any water on me but I didn’t. I could at least help the elderly man, but I DIDNT, when your gut tells you to do something DO IT. That broke me, life lesson right there.
Always respect the elderly, and help them when needed because when it’s your time, people are going to treat you the same way, you treat them.

Similarly if your gut tells you not to do something, don’t. There could have been guys hiding just out of sight of the old man bait ready to jump you if you’d went to help

Maybe it would be better to call for help from an ambulance or something
That way you’d be safe and the colapsed man would get help

yeah, sadly my phone was dead, and there are a lot of people surrounding the area. So luckily someone could have called the ambulance for help.

I like how everyone things different. 1 thinks of helping and the other thinks of the danger if someone tried to help.

yeah, thats just me but have to be careful of your surroundings indeed. So many dangers are all around you, things happen unexpectedly.

I wouldn’t even hesitate, I’d get out of the car immediately if they were alone. But if there is already a crowd of people there then I wouldn’t stop. If there was a nasty looking crowd then I would call an ambulance and get out of the car

Its hard to judge what we should have done in these situations. You shouldn’t feel guilty about it. We all feel like we’re going to do something in these situations but then not all of us will be able to do anything. It would have been a good idea to help him, but you were in your car, you would have had to find a place to stop to fully help him. There’s also the bystander effect, where people see these kinds of things and just don’t notice or continue on with what they are doing. If I was on one of those bikes, I don’t know if I would have stopped because I’d be concerned for my own safety and as a teen I don’t know that there is much I could do for that man.

You won’t have time to think, analyse and then try to adapt to everything in life. Sometimes you have to go with your first feeling.
E.g. in hockey, if you aren’t facing the person but you need to pass the ball then pass it in the rough direction of where they are. You don’t always have time to look
