Kaylie felt someone staring but she ignored it. She knew the rumor was that she stole Griffin from Karen, but what most didn’t know was that Karen started looking at other guys first. She was in a relationship way before Griffin and Kaylie. Hell Griffin and Kaylie weren’t even together. They were just friends and hanging out. They just admitted to each other that they liked each other. She was eating and in her thoughts when Griffin spoke again pulling her back to reality. She nodded her head as she chewed and listened to him speak. “Well, I didn’t necessarily mean tonight. Just in general>” She giggled
Nicky had went into the locker room to change. Once he was in his clothes to practice he walked out into the gym again. He noticed Kaylie was gone. Which was weird that she didn’t tell him bye. She normally did. Then he heard someone and looked over and saw a girl doing a vault. He couldn’t make out who it was till he got closer. He hadn’t ever met her before, but he heard Kaylie talk about this girl before. He smiled as he walked over. “Nice vault. You must be the one Kaylie told me about who only does this for fun.” He smiled at her. “I’m Nicky… It’s nice to meet you.”
Isaiah was in his dorm room. Alone. Drinking. It had been two days after that fateful evening where Cole he had simply ignored him and hopped off the wooden McDonalds chair as if he were a mere speck of dust that needed to be blown away by the wind. Isaiah was completely, and utterly embarrassed. He wasn’t even trying to be with Cole anymore. He just wanted to talk to him right? Vent to him even. That was all, yet he had gotten up before he could even say anything else. Well, he had a reason to get up since he was just sitting there twiddling his thumbs. Anyone would have gotten up right? So why did Isaiah feel so terrible? He also found out that his friend Jonas hadn’t even invited him to his dorm party. He could understand why since Jonas probably thought he was going through a lot. Still, it annoyed him.
He was laying on his stomach looking at his laptop screen. The bright light filled the dark room as well as the tears staining his cheeks. Tears of frustration or anger. He didn’t know which. He wiped his nose with the back of his hand and then saw Ava on Instagram. She was so sweet, so warm… So…soft. Plus she was possibly going to be the mother of his child. He remembered the last time they slept together. On impulse he pulled out his phone and sent Ava a text.
The Text
Baby I’ve been thinking about you
Please come to my dorm
I’m sorry I haven’t been answering your texts
Isaiah immediately started having… Reactions… Under his pants. He hopped out of bed and hid his alcohol bottle under his bed. Then he went to the bathroom to freshen up. He was just wearing a tank top and jeans.
“I know you meant in general Kay, I agree with you. But I just wanted you to know I was not expecting anything was all, like a lot of guys would.” The waiter ended up coming back and they gave the bill. Griffin instantly took it without Kaylie being ale to see it or take anything out. He took his wallet out and paid the bill with his card. He figured he would leave the cash for the tip. It is always nice to have cash so they can buy things from stores or whatever they need and not by debit/credit card all the time.
He looked up at Kaylie once he was done and a minute the waiter came back and took the check book with his card. “That was some delicious food huh?”
After Rebekah did her trick she heard someone speak and they were closer than she noticed before since she thought no one was there. “Oh umm thanks. I’m sorry I did not think anyone was here, I just saw Kaylie leave with Griffin when I walked in. Kaylie has talked about me before?” She asked surprised.
She looked Nicky up and down and saw him all ready to practice and stuff. “It’s nice to officially meet you Nicky, I’m Bekah. I already knew who you were though, since I work for the newspaper and the photography and yearbook. I have taken a few pics of you during your competition. Plus how can you not want to know who a new mystery guy is and why they are at the school.”
Amias left the party that Jonas was having and now he honestly didn’t know what to do. It wasn’t really his scene anyways. He did think that Kayden and Finn were both cool. He had never met them before. Amias wandered around campus for the rest of the evening, eating snacks and bird watching. He sat on the bench near the fountain and was feeding some pigeons a few scraps of bread from his sandwich.
At night, he enjoyed swimming where swim class takes place since hardly anyone was in there. Tonight he decided to do just that. The gym was connected to the swim building and sometimes you could see who was practicing in the next building room if the doors were open. Amias took off his pants and was left with his long swim trunks that were blue with yellow patterns. He jumped into the pool and started swimming, ignoring the sound coming from the gym. He got too curious, which was usual for him, and decided to get out of the pool and go to the gym doors. He saw that it was Rebekah.
She looked as beautiful as ever and his eyes couldn’t help but roam over her body. The leotard complimented her body so nicely. He wiped some of the water from his eyes and smoothed down his wet hair. She ended up doing a gymnastic move that looked skillful. He had no idea she was into that kind of stuff. He grabbed a towel nearby and walked into the gym. There was a guy who walked in right after him from the other side. He didn’t really know who he was. He just saw him in class right before winter break started.
“Rebekah! That was amazing.”He said genuinely. He started drying some of his hair with the towel.
Karen let out a deep sigh.“My… Ex - husband is here with his new date… That’s why…”
Fleur Normandy
Fleur texted James back in excitement and told him that she wanted them to meet at an Italian restaurant nearby. It was a fancy restaurant and she was able to afford it because her parents gave her money because of her injuries. As a sort of compensation for her troubles.
Fleur walked down the long hallway as the purple lights danced on the white walls. The building was large and she could see a band performing upstairs just from the entryway. Fleur felt out of place especially because of her crutches. She decided to sit down at one of the round tables and take off the wrap covering her leg. The doctor said that her leg should be healed a few days from this time so why not. With a grunt, she finally tore the bandage from her leg and stood up. Her legs were a bit shaky but she felt fine without the crutches. She walked up the long winding stairs and looked over the railing. She felt like she was in a bond movie. Then she walked to the performance area and then back downstairs where the dance floor was. Everyone was twirling around in the crowd and she started twirling with them. Her purple dress flowed out as she spun. When she could see the front doors again, James was standing there. She walked up to him and held out her hand. “Want to dance?”
Before Nicky could respond, she heard another voice who she recognized as Amias, and she turned her head seeing him in his suit drying himself with a towel so she guessed he came from the pool. “Hey Amias, fancy seeing you here. Thanks for the compliment I appreciate it.” she gave him a smile and looked at both boys, she was not sure why but this felt a little awkward.
She quickly grabbed her water bottle and took a sip. “So umm Amias this is Nicky, he just moved her this year, and icky this is Amias.” Bekah was not exactly sure what to say in that moment but introducing them officially seemed like the right thing to do in that moment.
After a little bit of silence and Karen able to come back to reality finally spoke. She said her ex husband was here with his new date. He then turned his head and looked in the direction she looked in. “Yeah that has got to be tough love i’m sorry. But at the same time why does it bother you so much? I mean your dating other people or have gone on dates I am sure after your marriage. So why is it different with him dating when your dating someone new to? I understand you have a lot of history and he is your first love but your doing the same exact thing as he is doing.”
Kaylie smiled at Griffin. Then blushed when he called her Kay. She never really got called nicknames much. She was done eating. Luckily she had put her favorite dessert on this plate. Then she watched Griffin hurry and take the bill before she could do anything. She giggled and smiled at him. Then he said the food was delicious. “It was really good. Thank you by the way. You know you didn’t have to pay for me right? Like I could have paid.” She said, but she knew that him paying officially made this their first date. Which was a little funny since neither really asked the other out, or said it was a date before hand. When she asked him… It was her asking him as a friend hoping to maybe be more eventually. “Do you want to go back to the school, or go do something else?”
Nicky was smiling. There was no denying that this girl was beautiful. He wasn’t really good at the whole relationship thing. He chuckled when she seemed surprised when he spoke to her. “Sorry to have startled you.” Then he nodded his head in understanding that Kaylie left with Griffin. He knew Kaylie liked him and he was happy for her. At least one of them might date somebody. “Yeah, once or twice.” He smiled at her. Nicky couldn’t help but put his charming smile on when she said it was nice to meet him officially and that she knew who he was. He smirked bigger when she said the part about wanting to know the new mystery guy. He was about to respond to the last thing she said when some other dude walked up and started to talk to her. He rolled his eyes at the guy. Not that he was trying to get with a girl he just met, but at the same time it felt kind of c^ckblocking. Nicky smiled and held his hand out to the guy. “Nice to meet you Amias.” He was trying to be nice even if he was annoyed. Who did this guy think he was coming into the gymnastics gym like he owned the place. Nicky knew he wasn’t on the team.
Ava was laying in her bed. Crying at the fact that she let this pregnancy happen. Suddenly her phone went off three times. She sighed as she reached for it. She thought maybe it was another post on one of the two blogs she saw all the time. However, to her surprise it was Isaiah, and he wanted her to come to his dorm. She thought about not going. He ignored her… So, why couldn’t she ignore him. She sighed as she rolled out of her bed. She decided she had to look her best. She went to the bathroom and put on some makeup. Then she found her outfit and slipped it on before heading over to his dorm. Her dress hugged every curve just right. The fabric tight to her skin showing them off more. It was like a sweater dress. She knocked on his door probably about 15/20 minutes after he texted. She didn’t respond to his text, and decided to take her time getting to his dorm. She waited for him to come to the door.
Amias smiled and paused a bit. It was sort of awkward but at the same time he didn’t want to weird anyone out.“I just came from swimming and I heard something in the gym. Sorry, I got really curious. I’m always like that.”He let out a little laugh. The guy held out his hand and introduced himself as Nicky. Amias thought that the greeting was a bit unnecessary because Rebekah just introduced him. Amias wondered if he was being passive aggressive or not. It was sort of hard for him to pick up on those clues Sometimes. He shook the guys hand a bit hesitantly and smiled. “It’s nice to meet you. Were you guys practicing some moves together?”
Karen leaned her chin on her hand and then ran her fingers through her hair. She knew that Nash would say this and it didn’t feel good. “You don’t understand. We just really stopped seeing eachother. We’re in the process of divorcing still. This is the first date I ever went on.” She glanced at Griffin and Kaylie and then rubbed her arm. “It just feels weird, that’s all.”
She commented on the fact that he took the bill and paid for it which he had a feeling she would comment on that. He was feeling confident for some reason so he said “true you could have, but what type of guy would I be to make a girl pay even for half on a date huh? I would not be very gentlemanly like now would I?”
He smiled at her. I mean it felt like a date especially since she was dressed up nice. Yes he didn’t dress nicely nicely like he would on a date but since they never said if it would be a date or not he was not prepared to change into nicer outfit. But I will tell ya next time we go in a date I will dress up nicer. Also I am down for whatever to be honest. Are you in the mood to hangout in campus or go somewhere else?”
Nicky apologized for startling her and then said Kaylie had talked about her once or twice after she introduced the guys. Then Nicky greeted Amias and held out his hand for Anias to take and then shake hands. Before Amias talked Bekah decided to say something to Nicky about the comments he just made. “it’s fine no worries, I usually try to done here when no one is here. Hopefully Kaylie said good things, which I’m assuming is since her and I don’t fully know each other that well and when we have talked a little there was no issues.” she smirked at him.
The guys ended up shaking hands and Amias spoke saying he was swimming and heard people in the gym so he wanted to come check out who was here. Amias asked them if they were practicing some moves together. “No we aren’t practicing moves together. I needed to just have some me time and think and sometimes I come here. I usually am here when no one is and I didn’t see Nicky here and the people that were here left when I came in. I was just practicing some moves since like I said I thought I was alone and then after I did my vault Nicky appeared, he was apparently here the whole time but was changing.” Bekah could not tell if Amias was asking to be friendly or if he was asking because he was a little jealous for some reason.
Bekah then leaned down and took her brace off her foot. She figured now that people are here she would probably not do anymore gymnastics, especially in front of basically a pro gymnast. From her research in Kaylie and Nicky she found out that Kaylie made the Olympic team and Nicky was a silver medalist at Nationals, basically right before the Olympic trials so he was right there where he could have made the Olympic team and then he left there gymnastics gym in Colorado that they were at, then Nicky went to another gym in Colorado for a few months and then came to this school. “So before your curiousity got to the best of you Amias how was swimming?”
He looked at Karen then back at her I guess legally husband still and Kaylie, then he looked back at Karen and walked over and gave her a hug. “I may not understand the divorce, but I can understand that no matter what it’s hard to go through and it hurts a lot. I didn’t know I was your first date since all that and I’m honored to be. Karen you deserve to be happy though in general and I know you know that and I know you will be happy again but it will take time. Maybe you and griffin need to have a one on one talk like tomorrow and figure out why everything stopped in your relationship. At least you can get some answers or see what was going on in his head. Can I ask and this is not to be mean or in a bad way. But do you want the divorce between you two to happen?”
Kaylie smiled as Griffin spoke. She thought it was sweet of him to pay. She listened carefully as he spoke. She blushed when he said what type of guy would he be to make a girl pay for even half of a meal on a date. This made her blush because she wasn’t sure it was a date until then. “You are right. That wouldn’t be very gentleman like, but I wasn’t sure if this was even a date.” She giggled “I am glad for the clarification.”
She smiled then he spoke again. This time he was saying next date they go on he would dress nicer. Then he said he was down for whatever. “I’m sure you clean up nicely.” She smiled as they got up and headed for the door. “Why don’t we walk around town? I’m honestly down for anything as well.” She said with a smile to him as they reached the door.
Nicky listened as Bekah spoke. She said that she didn’t think anyone was in here. He just nodded his head. Then after he shook the guy’s hand and Amias asked if they were practicing together. Bekah told him no. Which was the truth. “Yeah, we weren’t practicing together. I only just met her officially. I came out to practice and she was doing the vault.”
Griffin and Kaylie got up and started to walk out the door as she talked. “Honestly I wasn’t sure either since we never said just a hangout or date but I figured since you got dressed up really nice it seemed like more than just a hangout, and maybe as we were at the restaurant I wanted it to be a date, I just did not know how to say it.”
He held the door open and they started to walk away from the restaurant. Griffin took her hand in his as they walked. “Have you ever walked around the town before?”
Kaylie smiled as he explained that he wasn’t sure either. Then he said since she was all dressed up it seemed more then a hangout. Then he went on to say that while at the restaurant that he wanted it to be a date. She smiled and blushed. Then he held the door open for her as they walked out asking if she has ever walked around the town before. He then took her hand in his which made her blush more. “I haven’t gotten the chance to yet.” She said with a smile.
He noticed Kaylie blushing and it was cute on her. “Aww is ms gymnast blushing? Its cute when you blush and the cheeks are red.” He was being honest with her and did not just say it to say it. Then Kaylie answered his question in which she said she has not gotten the chance to yet. “Gotcha I have only came like once or twice so not much but I know some areas so we can chill around there and see whats around there.”
Kaylie giggled and smiled as he said she was cute when she blushed. “Maybe I am.” She giggled more at her response. Then he said that he know a spot. “Sounds good to me. I’m also okay with just walking around and seeing whats around wherever.” She loved that they were walking hand in hand. Now it really felt like a date.
Griffin didn’t realize they were still holding hands as they talked as it felt so natural. He only noticed when he looked down at the ground for a moment. “Sorry I didn’t use my words right, I meant I only know a small area around the town, I haven’t explored the rest yet and we can walk around that area and see whats around. And if there are any shops and want to go in along the walk we can. At least I think that’s what girls like to do is window shop basically.”
Kaylie giggled as he spoke. “I understand what you were trying to say. I was trying to say that we can even walk in the areas you haven’t explored and explore them together.” She hoped it made sense this time. She smiled as they walked.
Griffin just looked at her when she said she knew what he was trying to say. “Yeah we can do that I never said we couldn’t explore more.” He smiled at her. “I just mentioned it since you never been here and I haven’t been around too much and don’t know what parts are good or bad and we can’t have anything happen to you although I would protect you. Also my phone died so if we get lost I can’t find our way back so I hope you got enough charge.”
Kaylie giggled at what he said. “My phone is fully charged so we are good there. I won’t get hurt.” She giggled as they kept walking and talking. “So, where to first Mr. Tour guide?”
Now it was Griffin’s turn to have his cheeks turn red and blush a little when she called him Mr Tour guide. “Well you said walk so let’s just walk around and see where our feet and legs take us shall we ms gymnast goddess.”
