During a power outage, I tend to do one of two things. The first thing, which is must more frequent, is going to a local coffee shop or pizzeria that has power and using their power to charge my devices and use their wifi while I’m there. The other thing that I do is to use candles for light and hang out by windows if it’s during the daytime and play cards with my family or do something on my phone that won’t use too much power.
We had a lot of power outages and we lived in the bush so we just had to Go to bed. All shops would be shut or take a while to go to, so we’d just have to stay put
I don’t really remember. The last time I remember we had a power outage it was approximately one year ago, with the huge thunderstorm. We were all terrified, and I remember I played some silly games on my tablet to calm down a little bit.
That’s a good point–a lot of times power goes out during really extreme weather. In California, we had a bunch of planned power shut-offs a while ago, which was really annoying and meant that we had no power for pretty much no reason.
I typically charge our devices beforehand if I know there’s a large storm coming with the potential to knock out the power, then just chill with a janky radio from 1997 and listen to music with some candles
Food wise, the gas stove just needs a match to work and I’ve got plenty of those.
So I’d have five power banks charged and hidden at the beginning of the year for this purpose. When the power is out, I’d read wattpad books I’ve downloaded, watch some Netflix movies and shows, make candles with my mom, try and sleep, read some books, avoid interacting with my siblings as much as possible and eat to stupor because our stove is both electric and gas
Power outages suck. There’s always a power outage here in our place due to the outdated power equipment we have here. There was even a time when there was a daily power outage that lasts for two hours. And the worst part is that these outages happened during summertime, the time when the country is at its hottest.
Anyways, I already got used to power outages since they happen here a lot. We usually use that time to have deep conversations about life since there’s nothing else to do. Or sometimes, we just stay outside and admire nature since it’s too hot to stay inside the house without electricity to power up the AC or the fan.
