I don’t have a whole lot of information about this topic, but I’m really interested in learning more and hearing other perspectives on the issue. However, I think that sexism is a big issue in the gaming industry. Women and genderqueer people in the gaming industry can get harassed because of their gender.
What are your thoughts on women and genderqueer people in the gaming industry? Do you think it’s harder for them to find jobs there? Do you think they get treated badly there?
I do think so. I’m a non-binary person who started gaming years ago when i identified as female and ngl there’s so many disgusting things been said to me all because of my gender whilst I’m playing games.
I know of many female streamers/youtubers and a few genderqueer streamers who get harassed on the daily because of that because they apparently ‘don’t belong’.
I also know quite a few who quit because of that or because they simply weren’t getting anything out of it.
It’s stupid and disrespectful af.
It’s always terrible to see stuff like this, because it’s really not their fault in the slightest.
