Americans: What Do You Do on the 4th July?

So I’m a clueless Brit. I understand what happens during Thanksgiving, but I’ve never really known much about 4th July festivities.

What do you, your family and your friends do?

Happy 4th July by the way.

I don’t know. My family only goes to cookouts for it and that’s it. :woman_shrugging:t4: I think it’s for Independence?

We go downtown to grill and watch the fireworks at night, all of out family. It’s great because I get to see my cousins.

I’m excited for the celebration President Trump is throwing, but some people think that it’s not patriotic of him to celebrate the 4th of July. :woman_facepalming:

Sorry if I annoyed you ^^ but 4th of July is really fun and it’s a great excuse to get together with family.

I’m a clueless American- I don’t really know about any other holidays other countries have lol.

The fourth of July is all fireworks- you either get fireworks or you go out and see them- for other people it’s a day of barbecuing and hanging out with family and friends. And a day to get your flags up to date- lol.

We have cook outs and watch netflix.

But where I am, it’s going to storm, so I can’t do fireworks :sob:

We did the fireworks the day before- so we got to see it before it rained.

I know the main cities of each state do major fireworks for Independence day. It’s important to most because it’s the day America became a real country on its own. You probably knew that last bit.

The Minnesota governor doesn’t want fireworks. He hates America :unamused:

Yeah, some people are abrasive to fireworks. Especially if you live in close quarters or dry places. Sadly, you can’t do anything about that.

Others hate it when the President celebrates the 4th for some odd reason :woman_shrugging:

People are strange, man.

Yeah, It is strange because it doesn’t matter who sets the fireworks off. People get on my nerves when they act like that.

If he says something ignorant and/or messed up, someone gotta call him out.

True but there are some people who will just heckle him and it’s not very respectful. Everyone should be respected when speaking out loud.

Highly disagree. It depends on the individual and what they say.

What I mean is let them speak then make your point. Though there are some people out there who lose the right of respect among others.

Celebrating the independence of his country isn’t ignorant or messed up. People will criticize him no matter what he does and/or says. Pretty ridiculous actually.

They shouldn’t criticize him for it, that’s pretty stupid. I mean, we know how the man is. Hes gonna celebrate the Independence of the country. (A stolen one at that. =P Amerikkkan Pride
