Just because you donāt get it, doesnāt mean that itās non-existent.
For someone who identifies as a non-binary, I find this one a bit distasteful. I personally donāt mind it when people still consider me as female (since I still dress up like one, anyway), but I do not identify with either of the male and female gender identity constructs. However, there are other non-binary people who are very conscious about this, and comments like this are harmful for them. Similar to sexuality, gender is also a spectrum. Gender identity isnāt black and white, so donāt expect people to always choose between male and female.
no gender is pointless, why even bother trying to conform to certain standards? what does it really mean to be male or female? iād argue that itās nothing biological (which is the only real sense of dichotomy), since people who donāt surgically transition are still valid
itās a social construct
and itās entirely unnecessary
even measurable differences between sexes are thought to be influenced significantly by socialization (how people are raised in their culture, essentially)
You know that is so hypocritical what you are saying. Imagine how you would feel if someone would say: ātransgender doesnāt exist, you must be the gender you are bornā. I am sure you wouldnāt like that. Thatās basically exactly what you are saying to non-binary people. If you are trans you must understand how it is to not feel connected to the gender you were born as. This is exactly the same for people who are non-binary, they donāt feel a connection to their gender they were born as either, but where you felt the connection to the opposite gender they didnāt. Itās not a matter of picking one of the 2, cause neither option is who they are. They arenāt male or female and itās so messed up to say they basically have to pick.
i donāt like how phobia is being used in a lot of cases, since itās also a medical term thatās way more severe than just normal being scared of things anyways
