In Strolis
Akello crept and watched the display from his little nook in the street where he watched everything as of late. There was a scared and damask look on everybody’s face, but frankly he was angry. He was angry that he wasn’t listened to when he warned them incessently about what was coming and nobody was prepared for it now that it came. Natively being from Cadmus, he knew that Dux’s recruits would surely be told about it and sent here to find out what is wrong, that’s why he was now in Strolis in hopes of finding them and telling them everything he knows about the curse he came upon a while ago. He wanted to join them to prove he is right, to prove he is worthy, but also to do the primary role of what he had to do as a soldier in that war, shielding his family and friends, his people, from dark forces, and since he was sure he knew who was behind this dark magic attack, he had to share his bit of knowledge or he wouldn’t be able to sleep at night.
Akello turned around while in Strolis, hoping to catch a glimps of the group of recruits in charge of this problem.
From time to time he would scan the perimiter until he found something that would interest him, and this time he finally found what he was looking for.
In the crowd of downturned, scared or wary of people or each other, untrusting or constantly looking over their shoulder stood two figures that showed determination in their countenance. Or was it that they showed no particular emotion, but the rest being so frightened that by comparrison they looked determined and brave. Never mind which, it is the lack of fear that made Akello know those were the recruits. But only two? How could the two of them, even with his help included, kill such a mighty monster of legends?
He approached them and whispered.
“Psst … Over here! I know you’re the recruits, but no need to waste your time on that research, I know who did it. I was half expecting you to come so I prepared to show you the man behind the myth. Or the myth behind the problem.”
