As the group engaged in their friendly banter, Ivadriel kept his distance by walking furthest away from everyone. Though he carried a smile, he was consistently analyzing and taking notes on his team. Especially Kirara. Her odd speech could be excused by regional differences, but the scars? She looked like a survivor, the most dangerous type of person. It took one to know one, after all.
Ferox, on the other hand, was a little too friendly for Ivadriel’s liking. But it didn’t matter as much, since he wouldn’t be joining them. Iva smiled warmly at his compliments, hearing he’s always welcome filled him with energy. “Oh, you’re too kind, Ferox! I already feel like royalty from how you’re treating me,” he winked back, assuming it was only playful. “But what have I done to earn these compliments from someone as stunning as you? You remind me of a beautiful flower on a summer day.” Ivadriel was starting to enjoy the attention a little too much, he nearly lost focus of everything else.
He then turned towards Kirara, who seemed confused at his reaction to her compliment. “I’m not aware of what a mug is, but I’m assuming that’s a good thing,” he chuckled. His eyes trailed down her bare arms, which were covered in as much scars as her face. Ivadriel’s expression faded and he tugged at his clothes, before putting on a faint smile. “Kirara, don’t underestimate yourself, you look very strong,” he commented.
As his group continued to talk, Ivadriel closed his eyes and took a deep breath, taking in the sea air. He felt his nerves start to settle, but his excitement wouldn’t die down. Ivadriel continued walking almost in a daze, his head turning from side to side to take in the view. The town was so big, he wasn’t sure where to look first. It was nearly overwhelming, watching every person cross by him, each one different from the other. The buildings were tall and seemed to stretch out infinitely down the path. And the promise of seeing a sunset by the sea only filled him with more joy.
As Amissa offered to show them a few places, Ivadriel felt torn. He wanted to see everything, if only there was enough time. He chuckled at her remark about Ferox, but shook his head. “I don’t mind, I look forward to hearing more,” he smiled, glancing at Ferox. “I agree with Kirara, we should get to our rooms as soon as possible. There’s no time to waste!”
