Besides the fact that their badges are practically a token granted to them for VIP throughout the continent, another thing she learnt from Amissa was that Aevus was granted some lofty title of “Archmage of Wisdom” or whatever, which made her an important figure. So, basically she was a huge nerd nobody wanted to share the same space with. Incredible. [You’re telling me that we’ve have to babysit this unsocial nerd, because nobody else wants to?], Kirara frowned. [The salary best be worth it.], she repeated what she had been telling herself ever since the mission was assigned to them. Even though she had been weighing down majority of her hope on the money, she could not deny the additional experiences she had found pleasant, while on the move.
As diligent as Icy-brat was in his duty of translating the Signs to Miss Nerd, he did not disregard the unspoken code among the partners to openly snitch on them, and Aevus, obviously, found their discussion about “weather” unnecessary. Where did he even get the idea that this stuck-up weirdo would be interested in their conversation, anyway? Was he dimwit ?
But it happened to be that he was not. In fact, asking about the potentional threats awaiting them was a wise enquiry. Though, the answer held minimal value to Kirara. Regardless of the situation, you either survive or die fighting, and it had always been like that. However, Amissa’s reply ignited sparks in her fiery temper. “𝑶𝒊, 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒋𝒂-” Her words hung in the air as she stiffened, with her hand immediately shifting to the hilt of Katana suspended from her waist. The exposed inch of the blade reflected light, as the bird descended, but was promptly sheathed back, as no traces of tension in air the was perceived.
Whatever message the bird relayed, it seemed to have granted them an unexpected break from the journey. They set up their individual tents and as Amissa stated, the inside of the tent was indeed way more spacious than what it seemed from outside. Kirara sat down, upon putting her belongings inside the tent and drank some water while Amissa expressed how she had missed camping outside and being on the move. Kirara, honestly, could not relate.
She stood up and interlocked her fingers, stretching her arms forward, then signed, [Gonna go train for a bit.], before walking off a little from the camp site to get some exercises in, though she stayed fairly close to her tent.
