Beck’s resolve started to falter even more while hearing Shaun’s words. He sounded genuinely upset and it wasn’t what she wanted at all… Well not exactly. Of course she wanted him to be upset but…not like this. All she could do was stare at Lysander’s phone while Shaun’s words flowed out of the speaker, threatening to completely break her frozen heart. "Shaun I… " her words were so low that he could hardly hear them, instead he continued to talk over her. Make up your mind, Beck. Please, Beck. Those words etched itself into her mind until he said Do you even have any idea how confusing this is for me?
All of a sudden, Beck could feel her already frozen heart grow colder. “I can’t… Do this anymore.” She balled her fist up and looked at the floor, then to the phone again. Tears started to dampen her eyes, something she didn’t realize was happening. “How dare you say that you’re confused? Were you confused when you slept with Josie? Or what about when you flirted with Ashley?” All of her words came tumbling out. “You know what, if I’m such a bad person Shaun…” She paused for a couple of seconds, looking down at the floor. “Why don’t you go fck yourself, since you do that with everyone else right? Yeah, I’ve heard the rumors.” She sniffed again. “…Even as a fake boyfriend, Lysander is more of a man than you’ll ever be.” With that, Beck hung up Lysander’s phone and walked to the bed. She laid down on her stomach, resting her head on the pillow while looking out the window at the sky that was darkening more and more. She instantly regretted what she said, but there was no taking it back. Then she started crying, burying her face into the pillow.
