It had only been a month since Olivia arrived at Beverly Shores. As she stepped foot on the yacht she was greeted with the best of the best, celebrities she’d only seen through the screen. Alongside them, there were the familiar faces she shared a stage with, and the people who collaborated with her on her projects. Those brought a small sense of comfort in this new space. Despite there being other staff mingling with the celebrities, among this crowd she was still a simple newcomer. A director, someone who only worked behind the scenes. There wasn’t much attention on her, she moved in the shadows of the famous musicians, singers, actors. Maybe, it was for the best, as roaming through the maze of people and flashing lights had left her feeling quite disoriented.
As Olivia made her way to the table, she waited aside, making sure the others could take their seats before her. In the end there were a few empty chairs, and Olivia sat down at the nearest one. Though she felt her palms tingling with anticipation, she couldn’t help but smile, giving a small nod of greeting to the people beside her.
When her turn came, she reached for the box, giving it a good shake. With her hand inside it, she lifted her head, her eyes darting from person to person. Olivia could only hope she got a familiar face, as thanking a complete stranger would only be words without meaning. Taking a deep breath, she pulled out a name.
Aisling.
Her eyes went wide, her lips curving into a small smile. With a chuckle, her eyes landed across the table to a redheaded woman. “Aisling, huh?” she spoke, leaning back in her chair. Though she wanted a familiar face, this was certainly not what she had in mind.
A short pause followed, considering her options, but in the end it was pretty clear what she wanted to say.
“I’m going to thank you,” she folded the piece of paper. “I know we’ve had our disagreements, and you probably don’t expect this from me, but I wanted to thank you for being such a good manager,” she had a relaxed smile as she spoke. “You clearly care for your clients, and I respect you for it. Aisling, this industry needs more people like you.”
