Naomi could tell that what she said, did not make Celeste quit content, as she had stared at her- big eyes, waiting for more, but there was no more than Naomi could give her. Because outside of her husband, Naomi did not really know her. She had avoided watching any movies to do with Celeste, after Naomi had fallen out with Isaac- she didn’t want a reminder, did not need a reminder, so she could not tell you that she knew Celeste well enough. Still, shame had danced in Naomi’s belly as Celeste had sarcastically asked, Is that all?. She did not say anything, she had instead waited, for Celeste to say what she wanted about her.

“Thank you,” Naomi had said, but in her mind- there had been an uncertain tone in her mind, she hoped she didn’t convey outright. “You’re also a great performer,” Well, Naomi wouldn’t know if that was true. Was she a great performer? She wouldn’t know. “You have the dream life, and deserve everything,” She continued, hoping to make up for her lack of words before. But each word Naomi said was not sincere. It was not that she did not like Celeste- no, that was not it. After all, celeste was the one that should hate her. If she found out what she had done. Thus if Naomi was the sinner, how could she hate the innocent? She didn’t hate Celeste, oh no, but there was no love for her, because in a way, Celeste had stolen something greatly from her.
