Tommy kept driving as he listened to Helen. It hurt him to hear her say “I just wish it felt more real,” Luckily for him all the lights were green so far since the one. He nodded as he listened to her, so she knew he was listening. He then heard her say “It feels like I’m focusing more on this relationship than my work. And yes, I do know I agreed to help boost my work and image but…” He felt bad for her. He wanted to pull the car over and just hug her. So, that’s what he did. He pulled off the road and stopped. “I’m sorry it doesn’t feel real for you with Dave.” He looked deep into her beautiful eyes. “You do great work Helen. Luckily for me I’m your manager. You make it so easy to get you jobs. Yes, it will help both you and Dave’s images. You also have to remember… It doesn’t feel real because he doesn’t care about you the way he should. He doesn’t adore you the way you deserve.” He then hugged her and smiled. “Now time to get to set before they call us fussing because we are late.” He smiles and pulls back on the road and drives them to set.
Once they arrived at the studio. They both exited the car. All Tommy wanted was to grab her hand as they walked in together. However, he knew he couldn’t do that. He knew it wasn’t right. He knew technically she was with Dave, even if it was his idea. He stopped to lock his car before walking into the studio. He smiled as he held the door open for Helen and Pumpkin. They stood there getting coffee when Dave came over. Tommy couldn’t help but smile that Helen brought Pumpkin. Tommy knew that Pumpkin didn’t like Dave, but Pumpkin did like Tommy. Tommy flinched a little as Dave slapped in on the shoulder.
Dave spoke with a tone that was hard to read for Tommy “Hey Tommy, buddy. How are you?” Tommy forced a smile. “I’m alive and making it buddy,” When Tommy said buddy it was in a tone that would probably confuse Dave. He just smiled though. Then Dave said “Which scene are we doing first?” Tommy chuckled as he replied “That would be up to the director, not me. However, both of you need to get into wardrobe. I’ll go talk with the director and find out what scene we are starting with today; by the time y’all are dressed and ready I will have answers.” He smiled as he waited for them to go to wardrobe. Then he walked to the director and found out the info. He then waited for them to return.
