Aisling was pleased with the way that her and Josie’s conversation ended. That was until the other woman responded to her passing comment about her daughter with an accusation about her son that made her blood boil. Then she had the nerve to laugh to finish off her statement. Her temper got the better of her and she couldn’t stop herself from slapping her now ex-sister-in-law across the face.
"You have no idea what you’re talking about so don’t you ever speak about my children, especially my son, ever again.” She threatened through gritted teeth. Josie had struck a nerve and she had to have been doing it intentionally.
Aisling would protect any of her children with every fibre of her being but Elliot was the child she needed to protect the most. Artemis and Macy had inherited fire. They could stand their ground. Elliot didn’t have that fire. The ground underneath him wasn’t as solid and she needed to make sure he didn’t fall through. Mentioning him gets her to snap the quickest, which Josie evidently knew. Having had enough of Josie, she turned on her heel and walked towards the door.
