Isla frantically shaved her hair as it fell into the sink. She stared into the mirror with frustration and a sense of release pulsing through her veins. She needed to get this hair off of her. She had packed a razor in her bag while not knowing if she was going to use it or not but something snapped inside of her. The feeling of her blood dripping on the floor as the glass shards throbbed her bloody hand was the last straw. She didn’t know why, she just needed to feel less weighed down and her hair was the target. The target of her dwindling sanity from wondering if Isabella was dead in a ditch.
After shaving her hair and throwing the last remains of her hair into the garbage, she went into her room and sat on her bed, feeling blank. She was going to regret the hell out of this but for now, she couldn’t feel anything. She touched the back of her bald head and felt the soft skin that the razor left behind. She felt… free. Yes that was the word.
As she laid in bed her mind went to Isabella again and then Jorge. He was a suspect in the crime and it was driving her crazy trying to figure out what was going on or where he was. That was the whole reason she hurt her hand which was still throbbing.
She opened her laptop while sniffing and rubbing her red nose, and then put in his email. Then she typed up one, her fingers flying a mile a minute.
I couldn’t help but notice that her manager, Rowan, made a trip to get evidence for a crime you committed before she disappeared. That’s right, a crime YOU committed. Isn’t that a curious coincidence? I’m sure you can understand why that might raise a few eyebrows. Or maybe he’s a liar.
I’m not trying to point fingers, of course. I’m sure you have a perfectly reasonable explanation for Rowan leaving. I’d love to hear your side of the story. It would really help put my mind at ease during this unsettling time. After all, it’s always nice to clear the air, isn’t it?
When she was done she closed the laptop with a loud thud and laid down again. She closed her eyes.
