The last night Beck had in Brazil included some laughter and a warmth in her chest as the night winded down. Even though Ravi and Ezra were going through problems she still felt like Ezra might still love her. She truly wished the best for him and hoped that he and Ravi worked out their problems. Of course, Beck would make it a point to give a new perspective to Ravi about whether she really wanted to let the relationship go and be with Dave.
After the conversation ended and the drinks stopped flowing, she ended up talking to Lysander and getting to know him a bit more. Now, he was her bodyguard. Although he wasn’t the kind of person she would normally go for, he was decently handsome, interesting to talk to and she needed someone to distract her from Shaun.
Beck got to know Lysander a bit more over the course of a few days and saw some of his quirks. His fashion sense was…questionable. He seemed to like wearing things that were…unconventional…to put it lightly. Some of the things he said also made her pause and raise her eyebrow every so often but she found him interesting. He wasn’t someone that she would normally become friends with but it somehow…worked… with what she wanted for a stand in boyfriend. After some outings they had together, she decided to disappear to New York with a couple of friends as a vacation.
The whole situation with Josie was getting a bit heated with interviewers constantly asking her why she doesn’t produce music for her anymore. One of them even called her an “assistant” so that was the final straw. Plus, it wasn’t fun to constantly be asked about Josie when she wasn’t friends with her anymore. She just wanted to go to New York and hook up with someone and party with friends. So that was exactly what she did.
During her time in New York, she fought with one of her friends Ashley over a guy they met, but Beck ended up not hooking up with him even though she “won,” the fight. That same friend was her frenemy and ended up threatening to steal Sean from her when she came back to Beverly Shores because of an argument. Then, while she was dancing in a nightclub, she ended up doing the splits and somehow breaking her arm which made her come back to Beverly Shores after getting a cast.
After getting back she wanted to go out with Lysander again and pretend she was in some kind of relationship, even though all of her friends thought it didn’t make sense and it was a bit strange, but hey who were they to judge. She decided with Lysander on going to Shaun’s Cohen’s movie screening. She was 99% sure he would be there but wasn’t trying to make him jealous. She just wanted to Remincise on his stuff… She was supposed to meet Lysander at the store to find a suit for the night. Beck put on a a short frilly brown dress, a long black coat, and some sunglasses and decided to get going.
Beck walked into the quiet store. There were barely any customers around which was just how she liked it. When she saw Lysander her eyes widened, but she continued walking toward him, not wanting to be too rude, even though she scrunched up her nose and pulled down her sunglasses. What was he wearing? She saw that he was dressed like a grandfather going to a funeral and the suit looked too big for his already broad body. She usually didn’t like to judge people’s clothing to their face but she really had no way she couldn’t. She stood in front of him and looked him up and down.
“Hello miss Dawson.”
"Hello Lysander…what are you wearing?"She pulled her sunglasses down. She swore she could see dust mites on his suit. She looked down at his large pants and shoes. “At this point I’m wondering if you got this suit out of someone’s attic, but that’s why we’re going to pick out a new suit for you.”
Beck knew that Lysander didn’t know how to dress and he even told her that at one point…but damn this was the worst thing she’s seen him in. “Did you already pick out some outfits to try on?” She shuffled through the men’s clothing rack. “If you did we might have to immediately change them. I’m wearing a blue dress tonight so it has to go well.”
She wondered if she would have to explain everything to him about how he should dress for an event or if he would argue with her on choices. The thought of seeing Shaun at he movie theater made her heart beat fast for a second, but she pushed it down. She just continued shuffling between the suits on the rack.
