Waking up each morning right next to Jess, laying there for a while, for no reason other than to feel at ease next to her. Then eventually getting up to make coffee and read the newspaper before returning to Jess’s side to finally wake her for breakfast. One day, even marrying her and having a child together. A little one that they would both love with their entire heart, even after that child was followed behind by siblings they loved just as much. They would be somewhere near the city, but far enough away at the same time, somewhere the kids could play without worry. Then, each night he could fall asleep with the person he loved most in his arms. It would be the life he wanted. None of the pressures put on him by his parents, a life away from the spotlight. He would have the people that mattered most to him, he would be completely himself, and he would be happy.

• When you were stabbed, your mind turned to a memory of you and Kai, of him holding you close in the middle of the night when you woke up. How would you feel if I told you that for him being stabbed, he thought about the same moment? Here was his memory from that time, thoughts?

As his birthday approached, and the two grew ever closer, each night that went by, he found comfort in holding her close. Close and secure, ensuring that she wouldn’t go walking the streets in the middle of the night, and he wouldn’t have to worry. Whenever she woke up, ready to go walk, he simply pulled her close, so she couldn’t leave. Though even when she tried to get away, he made no reaction to imply he was awake other than a slight smile. Just as whenever he woke up in the middle of the night, with painful memories on his mind, she was there, and all he had to do was keep her close.

• The day you were stabbed easily could have gone very differently. You could have easily not made it through that day, or Kai could have easily died that day. Thoughts?
• That day, other than you and Kai being stabbed, it was also the day Laurel was born. However, it was very likely that Laurel wasn’t going to make it, but there was even a chance that Jezebel could have died and Laurel survived. Thoughts?
