Probably not intentional. Probably a case of being exhausted.
But its fine, he’s a light sleeper anyway, so any unusual sound would wake him up.
Boooo
Bad dad
He got her ice cream to make up for it. A bad dad wouldn’t have gotten her ice cream to make her feel better
Fine
Kai,
You said that arias a lot like Jess - what if I told you that she pulls a Jess and goes shopping herself?
Kaiii,
- So your FIVE YEAR OLD walked across the street herself - thoughts?
- You’ve had some bad birthdays… where does this one rank?
- How did you feel when you drove to arias schools and she wasn’t there? What did you do?
- How did you feel when security called you because they found emergency phone numbers in her back pack
- Is aria grounded?
Malachi:
She’s 5, she can’t get to the store on her own.
Malachi:
That is terrifying. I’m just relieved she’s not hurt.
Malachi:
It’s definitely not one of my better birthdays…
Malachi:
I was terrified. I talked to her teachers that were there trying to see if they had any idea where she was, and I called Jess.
Malachi:
I was upset hearing that she took that watch, don’t get me wrong, I was. But when they called me and I found out where she was and that she was fine, I was just relieved.
Malachi:
She is.
Jess was like 8 and she got to the grocery store on her own
You really think a 5 year old can’t?
She’s tiny - realistically it could have been easily hit by a car
What did they tell you?
What did Jess say? Was she looking for aria too?
Have you like… ever had a good birthday?
Hey she paid for that watch
She’s 5 - you’re grounding her???
Kai,
- So you bought aria monopoly? Maybe you should give her a real allowance
- Are you still gonna let aria celebrate your birthday?
Malachi:
That’s exactly what scares me.
Malachi:
They said they had her in class, but when heading outside for pickup, she was gone. I guess at that point they thought someone already picked her up.
Of course she was looking for Aria too. We were both worried about her.
Malachi:
There were a few birthdays when I was little that you could say were good. And last year, I’d say that was a good birthday, being with the people that matter most.
Malachi:
The store doesn’t see it that way.
Malachi:
It’s less grounding, more unless she’s in school, I don’t want her out of my sight.
DID YOU CALL JESS AND TELL HER ARIA’S OKAY?
How long did you lose her for?
Did you end up buying the watch to say sorry to the store or no?
Do you like… even have money to afford the watch?
That’s like… what grounding is. MAYBE CONSULT JESS IF SHE WANTS TO GROUND ARIA. Jessica is her mom after all, and she’s known Aria longer. Like, do you even have a right to give Aria any punishments? You’re barely her dad.
Malachi:
Of course I did. As soon as I knew she was safe.
Malachi:
I didn’t buy the watch. I don’t need it, I just like to look sometimes.
Malachi:
Of course I’ve talked to Jess, but I still don’t want Aria out of my sight. What she did scared me, and I need to know she’s safe. It’s really more for me and some peace of mind than it is a punishment for her. I’m not taking your judgment on how I should parent my daughter. You are not her mother, you don’t get an opinion on it. I’ve been in her life for two years now. I am her father, and I am raising her with Jess.
HOW RUDE
It would have been one thing if aria did something to be in trouble in those first few months of Kai being in her life, when things were a bit more uncertain, but by this point its a different story.
But I wonder if Jess or Kai did something the other didn’t agree with at age 4 or 5 if they ever had an argument about it
But yes, that’s understandable - he’s been in her life for 2 years being a parent so he has a right to tell her something like that
Private vs public school argument? Idk
Good question. It’s very possible really. It’s so easy for there to be something to disagree on in raising a kid
especially when jess didn’t involve him until aria was 3
