Raph needed a reason to talk to Eve’s family without her there. Which really wouldn’t have been the easiest thing since she has a very close knit family.

Jess can go to Raph and Eve’s wedding and ask Eve’s grandpa (aka the pizza master himself if Jess is wondering) to adopt her as a grandaughter. The whole family would gladly take Jess in as a family member.
1 rule though, family dinners happen often.
