Blue Royalty: New Blood

Prom night. Like anyone would expect, it was not a night that Quinn was overly excited about in general. Finch was the one who looked forward to events like this. For Quinn, this was the kind of night to drink some spiked punch, and hook up with at least one person at some point in the night. Its a party, have fun, and take the excuse to walk the line of doing things he’s not supposed to do. Especially being a mere two days until his birthday. Though, what may not have been expected, was that Quinn was for the time being on his “best” behavior, as in he was just going to see where the night took him and not explicitly cause trouble. Though really, how long could that last? For now he was showing the side of looking to impress and be a good date, to one Clara Weston-Lucier. How did Quinn find himself taking Clara to prom you ask, well that’s another story.

Quinn walked down the school hallway, stopping when he saw the Amelia Taylor-DeLoughrey. A rare occurrence anymore in fact. Far unlike the beginning of the year when she was required to practically follow him around to keep him from getting in trouble, and certainly unlike how for a time she had been over to his house multiple times, invited to dinner. Then, of course there was one time more recently that Quinn even had his father ask the question, “What did you do to her?” Amelia had gone as far as explicitly avoiding him in every way possible, ever since that morning he dropped her off at JP’s place after their night in the hotel. A night that had taken quite some time for Quinn to remember fully. In seeing Amelia, he turned, walking right up to her at her locker in the middle of the hallway. She wasn’t just turning and walking away this time. “You know, people don’t usually appreciate when you practically ghost them.” She tried to deny it and protest, but it was still true that she had been avoiding him. He rolled his eyes, he was having none of it. Even then she tried to leave, but he stopped her and closed the distance between them. In that moment, he did exactly what he knew she wouldn’t have expected, he kissed her, and it wasn’t just a quick, light kiss either. With that, he stepped away, seeing the stunned look on her face, and spoke up one more time. “Maybe think it through before avoiding someone next time.” he said before turning away from her.

After only a mere few steps he came across someone else who had just come into the hallway. “Well if it isn’t just who I was looking for.” Quinn smiled at the girl he stopped, not far from where he had just kissed Amelia. “I’ve been thinking, and one person came to my mind before anyone else. With that in mind, would you, Clara Weston-Lucier, be my date to prom?”

Now, Quinn found himself face to face with his date, holding something behind his back. “I know most dates would go for the classic flowers, but I had something different in mind.” After all, Quinn had easy access to something much better. He brought his hand out from behind him to offer her a nice necklace. If we’re being honest here, it wasn’t Quinn’s first time gifting someone jewelry, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last, but what else can you expect from someone who comes from multiple generations of jewelers, the Castillo family’s jewelry company being well known. “I thought you might like this.”
