A small giggle escaped Hyun-Ae’s lips as she placed her hand on Niko’s shoulder. “Sorry, it’s just that was cute.” Now it was her time to be embarrassed. “Bad habit. Our family tries to be polite, and sometimes we become too polite.” Niko asked if she’d had any dances at her old school, and Hyun-Ae shook her head. “No. We couldn’t even wear earrings. It was really strict there. Maybe thats why I’m so quiet here, as it carried over from my old school.”

Karen couldn’t help but laugh at someone acknowledging her moms crazy antics, even if the person who was acknowledging it never saw them. “Yeah…that kind of happened during my middle school graduation. She basically got angry because the person who was supposed to take us cancelled, and when they showed up surprisingly she started yelling at them. Plus some conflict with the teachers.” All she could really do was laugh thinking about it. I mean, it wasnt a huge deal but it was definitely something that she got used to with time. “I wonder how you and Mia’s parents are. They definitely have to be way more laidback then mines.” Then Tyler explained that he was actually nervous and the punch might be spiked. "Oh right, I was warned of that by my parents. This school definitely has a lot of cases of that happening."The rest of the drive consisted of usual friendship banter until the sight of the venue came closer. “It looks like we’re here!”

“Woah, she seriously did that? That’s messed up. You have a brother, right? I thought I saw him when I picked you up.” Karen asked about his parents, and he smiled. “They’re cool. My dad’s a surfer, and he’s actually that stereotypical calm guy. My mom works with animals, and I’ve never met a mean person who loves animals. You should meet them. They’re super cool.”

“Okay, I’ll see you at the prom, Xavier. Bye.” They said, hanging up their phone after hearing their stepfather call for them and tell them that their ride had arrived. They put their finishing touches on their outfit and their makeup and went downstairs. “Hey Chris, have you seen my dad?” They asked him as they reached the bottom of the stairs, looking around for their dad, wanting to see him before they left. They were used to saying goodbye at the door to their before he went to a fancy event and they couldn’t deny that they were even just a little bit happy to have the tables turned.

“I’m here, I’m here.” Their dad said as he appeared from the kitchen, walking quickly. “You look amazing, Gray. Have fun tonight.” He told them, smiling. “Thanks, dad.” They said, hugging him before grabbing their purse and leaving the house. They walked out to the car that was waiting and greeted the driver. They gave him Luna’s address and as he began driving towards her house, they could feel themself starting to become nervous, though they couldn’t really pinpoint why. It soon became too late for them to be second-guessing themself as the driver pulled up to Luna’s house.

They got out of the car and walked up to the front door, knocking on the door. They waited outside until someone slowly opened the door. It was Luna, who was wearing a blue gown that made her look like something out of a fairy tale. “Wow.” They said as she greeted. “Luna, you look…wow.” They told her, unable to find the right adjective, none of the ones that came to mind seemed to perfectly fit with how ethereal she looked.

Prom night. Like anyone would expect, it was not a night that Quinn was overly excited about in general. Finch was the one who looked forward to events like this. For Quinn, this was the kind of night to drink some spiked punch, and hook up with at least one person at some point in the night. Its a party, have fun, and take the excuse to walk the line of doing things he’s not supposed to do. Especially being a mere two days until his birthday. Though, what may not have been expected, was that Quinn was for the time being on his “best” behavior, as in he was just going to see where the night took him and not explicitly cause trouble. Though really, how long could that last? For now he was showing the side of looking to impress and be a good date, to one Clara Weston-Lucier. How did Quinn find himself taking Clara to prom you ask, well that’s another story.

Quinn walked down the school hallway, stopping when he saw the Amelia Taylor-DeLoughrey. A rare occurrence anymore in fact. Far unlike the beginning of the year when she was required to practically follow him around to keep him from getting in trouble, and certainly unlike how for a time she had been over to his house multiple times, invited to dinner. Then, of course there was one time more recently that Quinn even had his father ask the question, “What did you do to her?” Amelia had gone as far as explicitly avoiding him in every way possible, ever since that morning he dropped her off at JP’s place after their night in the hotel. A night that had taken quite some time for Quinn to remember fully. In seeing Amelia, he turned, walking right up to her at her locker in the middle of the hallway. She wasn’t just turning and walking away this time. “You know, people don’t usually appreciate when you practically ghost them.” She tried to deny it and protest, but it was still true that she had been avoiding him. He rolled his eyes, he was having none of it. Even then she tried to leave, but he stopped her and closed the distance between them. In that moment, he did exactly what he knew she wouldn’t have expected, he kissed her, and it wasn’t just a quick, light kiss either. With that, he stepped away, seeing the stunned look on her face, and spoke up one more time. “Maybe think it through before avoiding someone next time.” he said before turning away from her.

After only a mere few steps he came across someone else who had just come into the hallway. “Well if it isn’t just who I was looking for.” Quinn smiled at the girl he stopped, not far from where he had just kissed Amelia. “I’ve been thinking, and one person came to my mind before anyone else. With that in mind, would you, Clara Weston-Lucier, be my date to prom?”

Now, Quinn found himself face to face with his date, holding something behind his back. “I know most dates would go for the classic flowers, but I had something different in mind.” After all, Quinn had easy access to something much better. He brought his hand out from behind him to offer her a nice necklace. If we’re being honest here, it wasn’t Quinn’s first time gifting someone jewelry, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last, but what else can you expect from someone who comes from multiple generations of jewelers, the Castillo family’s jewelry company being well known. “I thought you might like this.”

“I get that. My family puts a lot of emphasis on politeness as well.” They explained, sympathizing with her. “Although, my habit that came from that is bowing. I have a tendency to bow my head when I greet people.” They added with a small shrug. When Hyun-Ae told them about her old school, they nodded. They were still mildly surprised, though they knew that their reaction was probably toned down by their knowledge of their cousin’s experiences at her schools in Japan, which also had very strict rules. “Well, I’m sure you’ve already noticed that we’re not very strict here.” They said with a laugh as the two of them walked into the prom venue.

“Koreans bow too, you probably just haven’t seen me doing it. I don’t interact with many people. I never had the time in Korea, and I guess I just became accustomed to it.” They reached the venue, and Hyun-Ae swallowed. Just breathe…”Yeah, exactly. I’m pretty glad. Feels like I can relax without everyone breathing down my back.” She said, doing literally everything but relaxing, as they entered the venue. She closed her eyes, breathing slowly. She could feel the bass reverberating throughout her entire body. It was like a second heartbeat.

Everyone has heard the stories - the Prince saves the damsel in distress, yada yada, and happily ever after. Maybe Amelia Grace even believed in fairytales growing up… and no… she wasn’t talking about the idea that the man has to do everything. Rather, Amie meant the happily ever after… she truly believed that it was possible to find someone to love more than anything else… but if there was one moment that broke any of her previous ideals, it was seeing her father fall apart in her hands. The one man who made her believe in love in the first place had withered… and just like that, her own faith in the idea withered as well. No, it wasn’t stupid little moments like Maxon using her… and her sister at the same time… or even having a crush on people who clearly never liked her and made sure to share that sentiment with others.

It was in that moment… in seeing that her mother had heartlessly broken her father’s heart… that Amelia realized what the actual hell was the point?. Amie had been waiting so long on something as useless as her virginity… something that people used against her… but any idiotic sentiment she had on keeping her first time special was no longer there with her mother’s decision to hurt her father.

And then… Amie spiraled. One choice after another… after another all seemed… wrong? Sleeping with JP… lying to her twin… hating her twin… hating her mother… moving out… everything all begin one fateful night that she was never supposed to be home. So at this moment… Amie just started talking to the one person who could maybe make sense of it all… even if Amie was avoiding telling Phoebe at first to spare her sister the pain she, herself, felt.

Amie didn’t need Phoebe reaffirming that she was an idiot because honestly, she had known that since day one. Despite such, her eyes remained on the revolving fan, listening to her sister after the words escaped her own lips. Though her listening turned a brief moment of comfort when she felt her sister’s arms around her.

“I do… I do owe you an explanation because we tell each other everything,” Amie whispered. “We… did until I was an idiot and thought I should keep something from you when clearly I should have just… told you because you’re… Phoebe… and you understand all this… stuff better than I do…” It was true… Amie might have been book smart, but if they were all being honest, all the street smarts went to Phoebe.

Amie pulled away slightly, looking into Phoebe’s eyes as a sigh escaped her lips with the girl’s next words. “I don’t… know if I thought you were capable or if I was just lying to myself because it was easier than explaining the truth… I mean… god I fcked up Phoebe… I never… I usually never fck up and I didn’t… know how to explain it…”

The laugh that left Phebe’s lips brought a soft smile to her own as she said she couldn’t be mad forever but honestly, Amie felt like she deserved it. Deserved anger… and to be hated… especially by Phoebe. “I… I had a list… I… with the pros and cons I don’t know, JP just ended up being on the top. I mean he’s single, he was the person I thought… would be most willing to… not laugh… I guess? And also actually abide by the contract. Raph was next… I just thought he’s kind of… well you know he would probably drunkenly tell someone… or something… I don’t know… it just came out to it being JP on top and so I asked… and he just happened to say okay…”

Amie’s eyebrow’s raised as she her sister asked the next question… but did Amie even really know the answer? In retrospect… she didn’t exactly regret…anything she had done with JP. They had made the terms… really damn clear… but at the same time… the whole situation made her confused. At one point, she was even scared she was getting feelings for JP but… Amie had at least attempted to keep pheromones and chemical changes due to having sex differentiated from what she actually felt about the man which was just… on a contractual basis. “I… he’s not bad? I don’t know… he was my first… and we’ve been… I mean he’s been… just teaching me… what I like? I don’t know how to explain it but… just don’t tell mom or dad… I think they’d kill me if they knew,” Amie finished with a sigh before laying down on the bed with a groan as she grabbed Phoebe pillow and screamed into it. “I also… kind of slept with… Quinn… on accident… well the first time was an accident and the second… is JPs fault… You know… are you sure you want to know about all of this Phebes?” Amie whispered, looking back to where her sister was now standing by her mirror. Honestly, Amie should also start getting ready… though right now, she had just dropped the I didn’t just fck one man, but I slept with two bomb on her sister so… maybe a little waiting wouldn’t hurt.

Annoyed - that’s the mood that Kaspian was left in after the conversation he had with a burned-out rockstar and his btch of a daughter. So, after flipping the man off, Kaspian shoved Andy McAllister for the second time before walking off towards the dance floor because through it was the quickest way back to the exit. Honestly, Kaspian didn’t want to be at prom in the first place and that exchange only emphasized that feeling. The only reason he was there was truly so that he could make a little extra cash with his business outside. Coming inside… well… he did what he needed to in an effort to avoid getting caught.

All around him, Kaspian navigated through horny teenagers grinding on one another. If Kaspian had to make a guess - at least 2 students would get an unwanted pregnancy tonight because some idiot thought it would be a good idea to hit it without a condom. Another thing - do you know how fcking hard it was walking through a dance floor with students grinding on one another? All these kids seemed drunk or high with the way they were acting… one girl even turning towards him and wrapped her arms around his neck after mistaking him for her boyfriend. No Brittney, I’m not Tyler. “Can you get off of me?” Kaspian asked, pushing the girl gently away from him as he moved the other way to get away from the stench of desperation in the room.

Here’s the problem with his plan though - there were people in every fcking direction meaning pushing a girl off of him and turning to go the other way meant he walked into another dancing… grinding(?) couple. “How many fcking people are in this school?” Kaspian whispered before finally looking at who he was talking to.

“Katherine… Burton?” It took Kaspian a second to realize who he was talking to, though as he did, he couldn’t help the smirk forming on his lips. Kaspian gave no care to the person she was dancing with as he continued his conversation. “Didn’t think I’d see you again after handing you that doctor’s note.” he stated, letting his eyes move from hers before drifting down to what she was wearing. After a few seconds of approval, he leaned in, “Having fun, Katherine Burton?” .

Tyler asked if she had a brother and she explained that she didn’t have one. “I don’t have any other siblings, i’m the only child. That’s why…you’re lucky. At least you have a sibling. I guess I have an invisible sibling I don’t know about.” She laughed, poking fun at him. She honestly wondered who he saw which made it even funnier. “Your dad’s a surfer? That sounds really cool. Did he ever teach you how to surf?” She was also intrigued at his moms occupation. “I’ve always loved animals, and I used to want to work with them, now i’m focused on other careers, but that was always my backup plan. Your parents do sound nice. I’m not surprised.”

Someone telling Richard he wouldn’t be noticed in of itself was absurd. It didn’t matter what he wore, he would stick out like a sore thumb, like always. “Well, your suit gives off…vintage vibes. I love it.” That was one of the styles he liked himself so it was definitely a plus. “Nice to meet you Carl.” He said after Richard introduced his step - father. He seemed like a nice man from what Elijah could see. Now, he asked Richard if he was ready to go and he asked him a question that seemed out of nervousness, especially because he was stuttering a little.

“Never been to a prom before. Have you?”

“I went to Cerulean High’s junior prom. It was a little boring to be honest because Senior year is the prom everyone looks forward to.” He answered as they walked to the car. He decided to go to the passenger side of the car and open the door. “After you.”

“Yeah, the reason I didn’t go to my junior prom is a bit obvious … at least it would be if you went to school with me.” Richard said as they were advancing towards the car. “If you’d like to know about it though, I could tell you … just not around a stranger.” Richard said hinting at having to separate him from his other date to tell him this. It’s not that he doesn’t want the other date around, it’s that he is a stranger he’s never met before.
They both entered the car and they headed towards Elijah’s other date which made Richard feel a bit confused. He was conflicted as to how it makes him feel.

In her childhood, Daiane would dream of herself in these gorgeous gowns, iridescent, sparkling fabrics that fit to her body like a glove. She would dance with mysterious, faceless strangers in a crowded hall, adorned with these fantastical decorations stolen from fairy tales. At the time, she called it a ball, but it was pretty much prom that she was imagining; the pinnacle of senior year. And yes, maybe it was different than young Dai thought it would be—hell, different even from what one-month-ago-Dai had thought it would be—but it was prom all the same, and despite everything, she was excited to go. Maybe part of her was still a little (a lot) sad, but she wanted to be excited for prom, so she was.

The dress that she would wear was one she had made herself, a project she’d engrossed herself in after… after everything February. She’d been waiting to get a sample of Embry’s prom outfit before she started, so she could design her dress in a way that complemented Bry’s, but, well, that obviously fell through.

Her dress as it was now wasn’t what she thought it would be when she first sketched it, but it was a beautiful piece in its own right. Maybe it had started out as a sort of way for her to mourn, but it had grown into something majestic—hopeful. It shone and glittered and moved like it was an extension of herself, almost like there was nothing separating her from the dress or the dress from her. Needless to say, she was really proud of the dress she had made, and it had become a positive note to prom, for which her enthusiasm for had begun to wane.

Another positive note to prom was Hera, who, after breaking up with her current girlfriend, decided to accompany Daiane to prom as a friend. About the girlfriend though—Daiane was unaware that she even existed, and then the next thing she was hearing was that they had broken up. She was worried, at first, that it might have been her fault that they broke up, but Hera assured her that she and Ari had only dated for a month—that month being after Dai and Hera’s Ferris wheel kiss—and had mutually agreed upon their incompatibility. At least then Daiane could rest easy knowing she hadn’t managed to ruin two relationships.

The evening of prom, Daiane had let Hera come over, for reasons of getting ready together. Logically, yes, that made sense, but maybe Dai had simply wanted them to come over. Maybe she had simply wanted their company but just wasn’t willing to admit it. Dai watched Hera work through the mirror of her vanity that she was sitting in front of, a soft smile tickling her lips. And not just 'cause of the compliments that Hera murmured in her ear, but because she just couldn’t help but fall into the natural comfort she felt with them nearby, just as she used to.

“Done! You like it?” Daiane examined her hair carefully in the mirror, the grin splitting across her face. “I love it,” she replied earnestly, twisting in her chair to smile at Hera. “Thank you, thank you!” Dai reached her hands over the chair to hug them, laughing at the awkwardness of the gesture.

As Hera stepped out of her room, Daiane looked to her dresser, where that envelope lay, untouched and unopened as it had been since she’d first received it on Valentine’s. She looked at it now, a familiar tinge of anxiety fluttering in her chest as it came into view. Dai prepared to do what she’d done for every day before, leave it for another day, but a switch flipped within her. Suddenly, her feet were making quick paces to her dresser, where her hands tore open the envelope with a sudden aggression. Slowly, her hands pulled out a canvas, and soon she realized that she held a painted portrait of… of herself. Her eyes flicked to the bottom right-hand corner, where carefully etched into the canvas was the bubbly signature E Thompson.

It was an almost perfect recreation of a photo she had once stolen Embry’s phone to take, saying something corny like, "See, now I know you won’t forget me." She remembered that day well, the two of them sitting on the edge of a boardwalk, their feet dangling in the water as the setting sun approached the horizon. Embry had responded, more seriously, “I’m never forgetting you, Dai,” and then leaned in, their lips meeting for the first time.

The memory hit like a tractor-trailer, and suddenly Daiane was furiously blinking back tears, determined to not let them ruin the makeup Hera had so carefully applied. She slowly ran her finger down the grooves of the paint, imagining all of the time and effort Embry must’ve put into it. Remembering, too, Embry’s biting anger that day, wincing subtly as her mind replayed those moments. Gently turning it over in her hands, she saw a small, black inscription on the back, words that read, simply, “Will you go to prom with me?”

prom ~

The venue was absolutely gorgeous—Daiane felt herself become a little breathless as she walked in and was greeted with its glamour. To her, it was magical, as if she and Hera had just stepped into a storybook ball. And, just like storybook royalty, Hera dramatically extended a hand out to her, one which Daiane deeply curtsied to and then accepted with a giddy smile. “We shall,” she replied, matching Hera’s poshness and allowing them to lead her to the dance floor.

“Thank you,” she said softly, a light blush warming her cheeks. Maybe it was just her, but that comment was not feeling so friendly. Or, maybe not only friendly. "And it’s thanks to you, really, I mean, you made me all beautiful.” She laughed gently, a smile sticking to her lips even after the sound faded. “You look amazing too, H." Dai added, nodding for emphasis. “The dress, it’s really you and you look—you look great in it. It’s awesome.”

Whoever this dude with Katherine was, he was fun. She was having fun, a much needed fun. He was not leaving her side since she dragged him to dance and that didn’t only boost her confidence but made her completely relax and enjoy the night. It would’ve been better if she was with her old friends from her old school… But this works too. It really does. What started as Katherine innocently wrapping her arms around the guy’s neck to encourage him to dance with her turned into something slightly different. And it didn’t help that she willingly let it happen because she liked it. All that attention. Hands on her waist or just all over her body. Was it the cupcakes? Maybe, but as I said, she was having a looooot of fun.

Her hands over Ian’s as he slowly let them slid down the sides of her thighs, her back resting against his chest, the moment she turned to face him again was when she noticed someone talking to… Her? Them? Someone around? No… To her. She was Katherine. Once she realized who was standing right in front of her, she dropped her hands off of her new friend, and for a moment she couldn’t get a word out. First, how is he here because she also… sadly…. didn’t think she’d see him again and two, damn… A suit? He looks really… Good. Really good. Such an upgrade from swimming shorts- no, don’t look at him like that.

”What are you do- Did you need- Wha- Uhm- I’m busy,” she started, slightly leaning back when he leaned in. She was confused, okay!? Glancing at the guy she was with was when a big smile appeared on her lips again, nodding at Kaspian’s question. ”Yeeeeah, I’m having fun, and you don’t… You don’t have to call me Kat- HEY!” So many things were going through her mind, one of those things being hey, dance with me but remembering she was dancing with someone else just seconds ago was when… Thinking about dancing with both of them led to her having… Different kind of thoughts, if you get what I mean. ”I’ve never-” done that, but of course she stopped herself from saying anything else, covering her mouth with her hand as she giggled to herself. It all probably seemed very confusing but it’s better if they didn’t know anything, and Kaspian just… Walked away. ”I’m busy.”

What was the last thing that Kai had expected when he came to Beryl? That would be to come face to face with Jess. Didn’t she live in Miami? What was she doing in Beryl? Though, it’s not as though Kai’s presence in Beryl was expected either. He was looking for his cousin. In part, to see how she was doing, since she had been in the hospital not that long ago. Then another factor in coming to beryl was that he needed some time out of Listaria, preferably not on royal business, and last of all, there was a part of him that knew he needed to look at all of his options. Though not even Kai could say whether he wanted to be talked into, or out of, resorting to an extreme option. Nevertheless, there Kai was, looking at Jess, standing there with a young boy in her arms. “Jess… I’m looking for Val. I was hoping she’d be here.” Kai paused for just a moment, looking at Jess and the boy, who Kai could only assume was her son. “I didn’t know you would be here.” He truly had no idea she would be there, and likely wouldn’t have shown up like this had he known. Now, there was no going back. He was in beryl looking at Jess, only looking away from her to look at his daughter, the blonde blue-eyed little girl who had then peeked around Kai to see Jess.

Someone remind him… why did Kaspian Ishida agree to come to an idiotic high school dance? What was the point? Right… money - something that 99.9% of the students around him would never have to worry about. Why? Well, they had a fat trust fund to fall back on. No, honestly. It was actually kind of terrible how much these students had to their name - because, truthfully, all it did was make them entitled assh0les that would never take responsibility for anything. Want an example? Well, just take Kaya McAllister who he was talking to a mere moment earlier. Anyone think she gives a sht about anyone besides herself? No. And honestly, it’s a generational thing - something that starts from the parents, meaning, Andy McAllister. Maybe you’re wondering why Kaspian hates Andy - well, the truth of the matter is Kaspian Ishida hates all Cerulean High parents who entitle their children.

Money was the cause of all of this… and sadly… it was even the reason Kaspian had shown face at the high school dance. Though, it was a dance he was soon going to escape as he walked back to his car to sell more unsuspecting seniors alcohol and safe drugs. Well… safe was dependent on the person.

On the notion of drugs… or alcohol… Kaspian was pretty damn sure the girl in front of him was on something which caused the man to furrow his brows. Despite her explanation of she’s busy, Kaspian didn’t immediately disappear as he would have if she wasn’t acting off. Her statements were broken, with no clear flow between them - giggles leaving her mouth before she even got any substantial information out.

Fck. Come on Kaspian, forget about this. You don’t care about her. Well, that much was true. Kaspian didn’t care about a girl he met once… she was irrelevant: A memory he would have probably forgotten if he hadn’t seen her moments earlier. But damn… here’s the issue. Kaspian may be an ass, but he didn’t like watching girls potentially ruining their lives by doing something they’d regret under the influence. Yes… he understands the irony being that he sells many of the products that would do just that. Except, at least he knew he was selling it with their consent… Kaspian didn’t know if this state Katherine was in was consentual.

Kaspian was still ignoring the man behind Katherine, as he grabbed her hand and pulled her closer to him, and away from her date. Looking at the man one last time with a “smile,” Kaspian told him. “Just a quick dance, and I’ll be out of your hair,” . It was more of a ploy to get her alone to make sure she was… okay before disappearing. God. Why the actual fck did he even care?

As Katherine’s… date?.. left, Kaspian stepped away from her before putting his hand out. He wasn’t going to force her into a dance if she didn’t want one. “Up to you, Katherine Burton, I promise I’ll leave you alone after this.” he stated, ignoring how he was in the middle of the dance floor asking someone to dance instead of already doing it.

Was Mateo blushing? Wait… on that note… how the heck did blushing work? Like… was he even subjected to blushing because usually people said only white people blushed and he wasn’t white… wait… sht was that racist. Mateo wasn’t meaning to be racist omg sorry. Fck. Never mind… um… back to the first question. Hooooow the hell did the red stuff come to your face. Could someone blush on Mars? Like did atmospheric pressure have something to do with it? You know… it was honestly a question someone should research. OHH MAYBE MATEO WOULD BE THE FIRST PERSON TO BECOME FAMOUS FOR FIGURING OUT HOW BLUSHING WORKED.

Damn… he got a little distracted. BACK TO WHAT WAS HAPPENING. Mateo let his eyes meet Sophie’s, and he gently smiled as she told him he looked really nice too. Um yea, if he could blush, he was DEFINITELY doing it okay? yeah. Maybe… anyways…The smile he had remained on his lips as she told him that her mom wanted pictures. “OOHhhhh alright alright letssss goooo but I’m not like that photogenetic so if the photos turn out terrible, donnnnnt blame me,” Matty noted excitedly as he grabbed her arm and pulled her towards where he assumed her parents were. He had met her mom for a moment when she opened the door before she went to go get her camera.

Matty didn’t even wait when he saw her mother and pulled her in for a biggggg bear hug as he said it was nice to meet her. Annnnd then Matty allowed the women for maybe one normal photo before he messed around - even Vogue-ing at one point. Suffice to say, the two of them spent about an hour longer then they needed to taking photos before he finallllly got her in the back seat of the limo he had gotten where, of course, Dawg was chilling because the original plan was to bring Dawg along for his first party which he sadly could no longer do because his puppy was apparently too cute. “Your mom’s sooooo nice. Where’ your dad?” Matty asked casually as his driver started taking them to the venue annnd dawg started cuddling with Sophie immediately. Look, Matty got it - if he was a dog he’d totally cuddle with Sophie too. Wait. WAIT THAT SOUNDED WRONG THAT’S NOT WHAT HE MEANT. Um… um… don’t look at him. Back to Sophie… okay?

You know that feeling where your heart sinks to the bottom of your chest? The foreboding feeling that something was going terribly, terribly wrong? For someone like Jessica who had been through some of the worst situations, it was truly rare for her to feel that anymore. Hell, Jessica had been on the brink of death enough times that something that would get others nervous would not even make her blink an eye. That being said, one of the people in the world that could instantly bring back that… pain… was Malachi Azure. He was likely the one man in the world that had hurt her more than anyone else… and hurt was treading lightly to what he had put her through. So yes, the instant she saw him, she felt only that: pain.

For a moment… maybe it was longer than a moment… Jessica DeLoughrey looked at the man in his eyes without speaking. There was a sense of familiarity within them, however, now the familiarity was hidden in the eyes of a stranger. Maybe he was always a stranger - because if we’re being honest, Jessica never actually knew Malachi Azure. He made sure of that. Was this how her mother felt when realizing who Leonardo Azure truly was? Though, that was a question for another time.

She was brought out of her trance as he started speaking, a cold feeling filling her as he called her Jess, and she felt an involuntary flinch at the word. Perhaps without meaning to, she immediately responded with a curt “Jessica,” to correct him. He didn’t get to do this. He didn’t get to be here. She didn’t care for what reason, honestly, she didn’t care who he was even here to see - he didn’t get to do this. Call her irrational, maybe she was, but Jessica DeLoughrey didn’t know the man who stood in front of her, and honestly, she didn’t want to.

“Well, now you do. Leave.”

Her grip tightened on her little boy who soon muttered another stream of nonsensical sounds and words “whaa madaa baa dada… mamaaaa daaa oooooo” She looked towards her son a smiled at him before kissing his cheek to give the boy some attention. However, as her eyes moved back towards Kai, her gaze drifted to someone else.

Standing with the man was a little girl peeking in. The similarity was close enough that Jess didn’t have to ask Malachi the obvious… nor did she want to. It wasn’t her place to ask, and honestly, while a part of Jess would always hope the man was doing well… it didn’t mean she wanted him back in her life. “I need you to go, Malac…” Jess started, though was distracted by her daughter screaming “MOMMMY MOMMYYY LOOK AT MY DRESS,”

Turning around, Jess smiled despite the way she felt about the person behind her. Both Shay and Zoe had apparently had their turn at picking dresses - which was clearly seen with the excitement on their faces as they ran to Jess in their new outfits. “Look mommy it’s pwink,”

Jess crouched down in front of them, her eyes bright as she looked at her daughters. “Woaahhh you two look so pretty,”

“Mommy… whaaat dwess are you going to wear?”

“Hmmm how about I wear a pink one like you and we can match?,”

“OKAYYY”

In Jess’ distraction talking with Zoe, she had almost forgotten about the person standing behind her. However, her ears perked up when she heard Shay ask “HI do you want to come to our dance with us? WE have pretty dresses.”

Instantly turning around, Jess only caught sight of Shay grabbing the other girl’s hand and running back to the back yard - soon followed by Zoe leaving as well. Jess would have called out for her daughter, but it was far too late with the speed at which Shay ran… and there she was… alone with Kai. She was still crouched down, massaging her temple before standing up and looking the man in the eyes. “Fcking hell… you might as well just come in at this point,” Jess muttered, closing the door behind him.

“Val’s out of town with Dan, so if you wanted to see her, you’re out of luck for a week,” Jess continued without emotion as she led the man to the backyard where the kids were playing alongside dozens of adults standing around the “dance floor” drinking from the bar as they watched the kids having fun. Jez was apparently sitting in the makeup department, helping the kids put on lipstick and eyeshadow after they got dressed up. Honestly, she looked… happier than she had over the past few days which was good. Aidan was shyly sitting by her side, hugging her hand instead of dancing - though that was to be expected.

Walking towards the playpen where the toddlers were, Jess put Grayson down next to the other babies including Ethan before walking over to Kai for the second time. Standing next to him, Jess only looked towards were his daughter was picking out a dress with Shay. “Let her have her fun, but I want you fcking gone after this Kai.” And with that, Jess walked inside, wanting nothing else do with the man.

@Littlefeets - I imagine he follows her for some sort of apology which will get heated.
@astxrism - yo kids mentioned

Luna gave a soft smile, “Thank you.” She said, “You look wow too.” Luna said brushing a strand of hair. She fidgeted with her hands nervous as Athena stared at her, she looked down on her dress. Wow, she never really got to notice how they dress looked, to busy practicing on how not to embarrassed herself or Athena, but now that she can see the dress , it looked good. She was grateful for her dad for getting her this dress and a little embarrassed because it seemed he remembered what Luna had told him when she was just 7.

‘dad when i’m in highschool, I want a dress like the princesses from Eural’

That was what she had told him and that was what she had gotten. “So… did you bring your car?” Luna asked looking into Athena’s eyes and blushing, face red as a tomato and everything.

“Your date doesn’t seem to interest you much nor does he seem to be interested in you” Adonis said with a smirk, he wanted to make her angry, she looked cute when she was angry. Maddie giggled, not knowing Adonis through intentions in that comment. “Well it’s ok you have me and umm Maddie?” Maddie had turned to give him a ‘wtf’ look and this time Adonis noticed that look, he noticed it and ignored it. “Maddie could you go get a snack for three of us, the person handing out the cookies hate me and probs won’t give me a thing.” Maddie eyes widened, “Why can’t she do it?” the she being obviously Destiny. “I want to talk to her. I’ll make it up to you for this Adonis added at the end, knowing the ‘i want to talk to her’ part would make Maddie angry, it seemed like he had a thing for making girls angry- always the last part made Maddie perk up and smile, “Fine.” She flirted, throwing her hands over his neck, “Just-” She smashed their lips together closing her eyes. Her hands were wrapped around his neck even tighter and her eyes closed throughout, Adonis wasn’t. Adonis eyes were opened as he stared at Destiny, his surprise emotion from the kiss changing into an amused one as he stared at her. He gave her a sly wink as he finally clozed the eyes and kissed back. Maddie pulled herself away from him with a smile towards him and a glare sent Destiny’s way she walked away to get the cookies.

“So what’s up with you? How do you feel about Mason now.” Adonis asked as he took a sip from his drink.
