The day he both hoped wouldn’t come so quickly because it meant he had to keep pretending to be something he was not and was almost excited for finally arrived. Prom was just one of those nights you can’t miss, and Finley was someone who couldn’t miss such things. Everyone will be talking about prom until they all graduate, and not being a part of that would be a tragedy, plus how could anyone imagine prom without Fin? He was a necessity. The most important person to arrive and bless them all with his presence. Maybe that was an exaggeration but it was important for him to be there.
The day went on quickly as he was preparing for the hardest part, which he had some help from his sister over facetime - but he was supposed to pick some flowers for his prom date and then pick her up in his new, cool car which he bought and didn’t get as an apology. There was not a day when Fin didn’t curse himself out for being stupid and asking Olivia to prom just so he could prove something and mess with certain people because playing pretend was harder than he thought it would be. Sure, he is nice to girls, really nice… When he is expecting to get something from them but this was different. He didn’t want anything to do with his date so it was hell. But only a few hours and then he can leave her the moment they get to the venue because his job would be done then. Maybe he’ll stick around her for a bit longer just to let everyone see them together but… It’s something he will decide once they get there.
Besides him doing all these weird things he’d never do, his friends were also… Being weird. For example, his roommate who was now God knows where… probably already at prom or whatever, was in a suit and with a girl being… Oddly nice. I mean, go you buddy but… What? And other things you’re not worth knowing but Fin noticed. That part was just worth mentioning, and while we’re talking about that person, Fin really needs to get the Montoya brothers together again. Look, he loved having his friend over all the time but… Your guy could now use some privacy since his… Was working again. Yes, that’s good news he didn’t get to share with anyone yet. And you know what that meant? Prom sure was going to be fun… Once he gets rid of Olivia. There is this one girl, but he forgot her name… She definitely has a date but who cares? When was that ever a problem? And there was also… That other girl and… those two cheerleaders. So many lovely girls to pick from but let’s not get ahead of ourselves, Finley still had to deal with the awkward picking up my date situation.
Anyway, being a nice guy he was and bringing even more beautiful flowers than he did for the promposal, he picked up the most beautiful date ever in his new car and they arrived at that ridiculous place the prom took place at. Where is Mason? Are you seeing how cute Fin and his date were? If you didn’t, well… That’s too bad because Finley decided not to waste much of his time on this and separate from the girl. Sure, first he did walk around with her for a bit, tried to make her laugh and gave her all these beautiful compliments making sure as many students as possible could see them and notice how happy they looked together but soon he left her with an excuse that he’ll grab them some drinks. Pitty that wasn’t the case… Or he might change his mind when he gets bored of whoever he finds next. Wait for him, Olivia?
The moment he was as far away from her as possible, he scanned the place for some girls who didn’t seem too distracted with their dates, making sure he kept a smile on his face. There were a few incidents when he walked by a couple and accidentally brushed the girl’s arm only to turn around and smile at her before disappearing, not paying attention to her date whatsoever. That was until he spotted someone he used to know well standing alone, and who can say no to a bit of rekindling, especially after that little interaction on Halloween? Not Fin. ”I’m… Wow,” he mumbled, amazed with the girl standing in front of him. Amazed or just pretending so he could get something out of it? We’ll never know, but the girl truly did look breathtaking. ”Red sure is your color,” adding with a soft smile on his lips, he gently placed his hand on her waist, his gaze subtly lowering now that he was standing closer to her. ”Don’t tell me you’re here alone, that doesn’t sound right-” How lucky he is to have someone else answer that and not Amanda? “Lucky” because that person was no one else but Paige. Paige? Amanda came here with Paige? Oh… Poor girl… ”Very mature, Paige.” Dropping his hand from Amanda’s waist as he turned to face the girl interrupting his very important conversation, the smile he had on very quickly faltered. ”Though… I don’t think I’m the one who should be worried about spreading STDs with my,” wiggling his own pinky, he continued. ”That works very well, thank you for asking. I’m happy to see you too, and I’m happy that nothing bad happened… Or wait, your sister’s fake dad is… Anyway,” turning his back to Paige, he shifted his attention to Amanda again, once again forcing a smile which he, it might not look like it, hated.
No. You don’t get to bring up what happened to him because of Amelia like that. You don’t get to talk about it because it’s none of your business, Paige. What are you trying to do here? Do you feel threatened because Fin could surely make your date feel better than you ever could? ”I’m so sorry you have to deal with… Her,” Fin sympathetically told Amanda, lightly shaking his head. How could anyone voluntarily spend time with Paige and not want to murder someone? It must be some kind of a special skill he wasn’t interested in. ”Did your date not even get you anything to drink?”
