After talking to AJ for then long enough and actually starting to feel like this place could be a good time even if she was only here for maybe a month. She already had a few people here that she knew and that made her hopeful. She didn’t always try and make friends right away when she moved to a new place because usually, it wasn’t worth it to get to know people too closely and then up and leave There were a few places she was longer than usual than she would let herself get to know people better and thankfully those people are now put back into her life.
When she got home that night after the party, she told her younger sister Harriet everything. Their mom was still out and away on the date she had that night, so Harriet was still away and waiting for Harts to get home. Harriet almost choked on the water she was drinking when Hartley had told her how she split a drink on a girl’s top while on the way to the bathroom and instead of the girl being mad, she just decided it was an opportunity to strip down to just a bra. They stayed up for far too long, but Harriet had so many questions and Hartley was happy to answer them. In all honesty, this place was so different than past towns and at this rate, it could get pretty high on the list of her favorite places.
But now today was the another day of school and she was still getting used to being at Beryl high. Hartley got dressed in a silky bandana top that tied around her neck and left her shoulders exposed. It came to a triangle just as her stomach and was met with a pair of high-waisted light-wash mom jeans. They had a few holes and there and she put on a pair of white high-top platform converse. As she walked out of her room, she opened peeked into the crack of her mom’s and saw her passed out on top of the covers but alone.
Her eyes racked the surroundings that was her new high school. This was the first time in forever that Harriet and she had gone to the same school So in the hallway they said by to one another, and Harriet went off, holding a paper in front of her with her class schedule on it. She hoped she would be okay today and was a little mad at their mom that she couldn’t have worked up to say goodbye. She looked left, away from Harriet leaving, to a voice talking to her.
”You could’ve just texted me begging for forgiveness instead of coming to another country,” She knew Finn, sadly. She knew him very well and that’s what made her blood start to boil while he spoke to her with a sarcastic smile plastered on his face. She tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and listened to him speak still. ”I know you were dying to see me, but I don’t think feelings are mutual.” She assumed he was finally done talking. She smiled kindly to him while moving her arms to cross them on her chest, her white purse moving to the cruck of her arm. “Sorry, not trying to be rude but who are you?” She said back to him in a sweet tone to lay on the act. Her eyebrow raising slightly. “Maybe I just look like someone you knew?”
