Yes… thank you, Jared.” A long sigh left her lips as Emmy closed her eyes, smiling only because she felt Piper’s arms wrap around her. “I’m sorry… I know we had our lunch date and I’m already had you waiting for me for an hour.” Emmy mumbled, turning around in her chair to look at Piper. “Dan said something stupid and the Washington Post has been at the forefront of it - and I’ve just doing damage control since 6 AM. I swear to fcking god that man is trying to ruin any relations we have with our competitors. Like, look, we all know Apple hasn’t been relevant since 2020 but god, Dan. You don’t say that they’re prehistoric and should stop fcking trying god.”
Emmy ranted, before standing up and wrapping her arms around Piper. And… well, maybe hugging turned into kissing. Though, before either of them pulled apart - a voice broke through the office room. Pulling away, Emmy turned finding Piper’s little brother walk in - with… well… an interesting question. One that caused her to look at Piper immediately to see if she should even… well…say anything.
“Hey Eddie. Yeah she… she is. Sorry… I know some things have come out about her in school but… yeah, she’s my little sister and she’ll always be. I don’t… honestly Eddie I don’t know if I should answer that question…” and with that, she looked back towards Piper. “You two were inseparable, Eddie.” Emmy sighed before walking towards him. “And I bloody mean inseparable. You came to our house to hang out, she came to yours. There honestly wasn’t a day where the two of you weren’t playing one game or another before you…left.”
