Her eyes followed Ricky as he walked across the room, ominously making adjustments that prevented being caught out by teachers. “They’ll still know it was you if you kill me,” Lenora told him, unsure of how much she would actually consider that to be a joke. “Sorry to be a bearer of bad news. Again,” She continued, still being the only one to acknowledge her revelation moments before. She stayed sat at the desk while he advanced to the teacher’s desk, somehow opening the lock. While she knew it couldn’t really be possible anymore, Lenora still kept checking the door, worrying about the moment it would be swung open by their teacher.
Lenora sat up at the reveal of the bottle that she was in detention for, perhaps a touch of embarrassment hitting her. “You can’t—” She started, though stopped herself as he opened it. Because who else was going to have it? Not her mother, she would hope… that was kind of the point. “That’s really clever, my mom didn’t have that same initiative,” Lenora told him after weighing out what sounded worse, his guess or the truth - knowing her vague answer will probably come with an accurate assumption from Ricky of what that means. “And it’s not bullsht,” She told him as he started drinking - Lenora was yet to have that same urge though she knew it probably wouldn’t be long. “I tried to tell you as soon as I could, I tried, the first day of junior year, I did, but you—” She fell back in her chair as Ricky cut her off.
