Blue Royalty: New Blood

Past Annie would hate what she saw right now. The Annie that stupidly fell in love with Quinn Castillo, and should have learned from their ending - and now the exclusively cruel words they have for each other - that love will inevitably fall apart. It didn’t work for people like her - or just her. And she thought Enrique Montoya would have been any different?

If she were to ask him about the fight he got into, Annie would be becoming far too outwardly invested in his life than what she wanted. So, as much as she wondered who the other guy was - whether it was one of his brothers, or Elio, or whatever - Annie wanted to appear as uninterested as possible. “Don’t ask questions you won’t like the answers to,” She told him simply, giving him enough of an answer with that.

“Would you believe you?” She asked, her voice quietened from before after he changed the subject to the elephant in the room. Plane. Did Annie believe him, though? She shouldn’t. Maybe she wanted to, though. As questionable as his feelings actually were, hers were always real. And maybe there were moments that couldn’t have not been real. Her gaze softened in the consideration that he was telling the truth. But she couldn’t listen to that part of her- because perhaps Annie just doesn’t know him at all, and he was a really good liar. He had broken her trust, the trust that really would have been of use right now.

Which is why she let the possibility of dishonesty overshadow any belief she had in him. “Save your breath, Ricky, it’s done now,” Annie told him, hiding any trace of understanding she may have had. “We don’t need to waste time going through it - what was ‘real’ and what wasn’t, it doesn’t matter anymore.” She shifted in her seat, her headphones ready to block out the presence she had been unfortunately placed next to. Annie gave one last glance at Ricky, who was expectantly watching her. “Entertain yourself, or something, then. Long flight.”
