Cynric nodded and shrugged as if it wasn’t a big deal at all. “Yeah, of course, I’ve been waiting for it,” he answered. Ever since he was just new to Cerulean High, when he first learned about Blue Royalty, he immediately made up his mind to join it despite some of his peers’ negative opinion about it. It was also one of the reasons why he befriended former seniors, so that he’d learn his way around it. “You know what they say, get every opportunity you can.” But Cynric knew deep inside him the real reason why he chose to want to win this game. He wanted to prove himself to someone.

Just as he thought about that, he felt a distinct and unignorable presence behind. It was one he disliked back at home: Darling. He turned his head, eyes landing on the lunch box she was holding right before his face. He immediately recognized it as his, and was about to grab it as he noticed her glare. Darling had her eyes on his seatmate, and it wasn’t at all a friendly one. Well, was that even a surprise? “I didn’t know you’d be friends with desperate people,” she said, turning her attention to Cynric, who rolled her eyes at her remark. She turned again to Karen, “Unfortunately for you, I’m here. Now what does your mommy want from us? I’ll be the one to deliver.”

Cynric rolled his eyes again. He wasn’t going to let his and Karen’s morning be ruined just because of an ignorant girl, who seemed to be convinced she was on the right side. Harshly grabbing the lunchbox from Darling’s hands, he gestured for her to leave/ “Go before you embarrass yourself,” he said, turning to Karen. “Sorry about that, just ignore her.”
