Ever since the start of school, Jayleen has always found herself hurrying to be out of her home. She didn’t really know why, but she felt like the school was a better environment than there; perhaps that was also what she used to feel. Maybe it was a habit.

A habit that she wanted to break today. That would be too late now, but it’s never too late to fix a mistake. The moment she stepped foot in the school, she could feel the judgmental and disappointed stares of her peers. All she could react back then was confusion, but as soon as she heard the whispers, she quickly strode into the restroom and hid. She really didn’t know what to think, but she just wanted to leave and avoid the embarrassment. This was probably why Jayshin was silent and seemingly mad at her last night, and why he chose not to go to school today. Taking her phone and finally reading the culprit, she couldn’t help but suffocate her phone with her small hand. She took… what? No, there must be some reasons. In a family like hers, there always will be. And that, she must know. Going home right now would be a bad decision, especially if her brother has also heard of it already and told their parents. Oh, Jayshin, the poor boy—just imagine how embarrassed he must also be right now. His sister of supposedly elegant things, turning out to be a dirty addict.

Jayleen shook her head, rolling her eyes so subtly. No, she scolded herself, taking her bag off of the sink. Just as she was about to leave, a couple of girls entered the room and greeted her with heavy looks. She stayed silent, quickly slipping herself out of there. I shouldn’t feel ashamed, this is not mine. She tried to convince herself that, since she really didn’t remember anything about that, it wasn’t true… at least anymore.

Repeating that “philosophy” again and again, she kept her head low to the ground as she walked through the halls, attempting to escape school. Though, just as she was about to, she came to a stop after almost bumping into someone. Ah, yes, the perks of watching the feet. It was Athena Lee, the first person and the only groupmate she stuck with during the Halloween party. Just as quick as her eyes landed on theirs, they were also quick to withdraw and go back to her feet, though she looked at them again after realizing how it might be a foolish thing to do. If she wanted to convince herself she wasn’t guilty of this, why should she do that? “Hey!” she greeted, “It’s you,”
