Blue Royalty: New Blood

“Oh? Before class?” He said confused “Well that’s new. I’ve never been this early to class.” He smiled. She started talking again and basically she meant to say ‘I don’t know if what I just said was true.’ but instead of elaborating on it she continued talking so Jackie was left there saying “Wait what do you mean you hope you’re r … Oh my name? It’s Jackie. I know, people say it’s unisex but it’s really mostly used for girls, not so often for boys and that’s why my mother picked that name for me, you see I don’t really like my mother that’s why I’m talking about her behind her back, but don’t worry whatever I say can be bought by my mother for a statement that she’s the same good mom to all of her kids. But I like your name too Hyun-Ae? How do you spell that? It sounds like something a celebrity parents would name their kids, I mean X Æ A-Xii? Come on. Also, I always wondered about South Korea … so you’re South from Korea, do you usually have to travel trough North Korea to get to another country or is there a route to avoid it?” As she could already figure out, Jackie was big on talking, but mostly not something intelligent.

So met anyone any special?
Niko laughed as they shook their head. “There was this one girl who flirted with me at work, but nothing really happened after that.” They told her with a shrug. Niko wasn’t really one for relationships, as their reluctance to share personal information about themself often got in the way of them forming connections with people. When Tsumuji asked them if they were competing for Blue Royalty, they nodded. “Yeah, I am!” They confirmed, smiling. “Are you also competing?” They asked, out of pure curiosity. Niko smiled again as Tsumuji told them she was most excited to see her friends again. Their list of friends was relatively small, another consequence of their secretiveness, and they couldn’t deny that they had also missed their friends over the summer. “Yeah, I get that,” They said, agreeing with her.

“There was this one girl who flirted with me at work, but nothing really happened after that.” Niko shrugged and Tsumuji giggle, she knew that Niko wasn’t really one for relationships but she ask out of pure curiosity.

“Yeah, I am!” Tsumuji smiled and clapped her hands, “Oh i’m also competing.” Tsumuji gave her a friendly smile, “I hope you win if I don’t” She opened up her hands wide, “Hug?” Tsumuji loved hugging people, especially her family and friends. Hugging can really reveal a lot of things and was really comforting, it was shocking to Tsumuji how many people didn’t know that.

“Yeah, I get that,” Tsumuji smiled, “So what do you feel like doing first?” Tsumuji knew what she was going to do, greet all her school mates and give them hugs,

Luna let out a nervous chuckle, and he shrugged. “It’s fine. Good on you for reacting.” Ben nodded when she said she wasn’t much interested in video games. “That’s fair. Just try it if want.” He said, taking the cartridge back. He reinserted it into the console, putting it back in his bag. “I usually play at lunch so people don’t bother me.” He explained.

“Don’t be shy, get some more,” Cynric teased and laughed, placing his bag on his desk. He rose his brows at her question, followed by an expression that looked like he was going to tell some kind of secret. Well, he is about to. “Candy’s not the only thing,” he whispered, picturing more foods hidden in only he knows where. He was a big foodie; if you knew Cynric well, you’d know he’d be the go-to for instant stomach replenisher. Though… it might be quite unhealthy sometimes. Ah, speaking of instant stomach replenishers, Cynric suddenly remembered of an actual meal for later… oh well. He has money, anyway. “And that’s exactly why I’m hiding it in my bag here,” he laughed, “I doubt this’ll last one subject though, so we gotta take everything we can before someone else will.”

He reached for another, opening it without ever seeing what it was. As long as it was something edible his mouth could chew on, it wasn’t important. “Yeah, I’d be a disappointment without the classic,” he said, pulling his bag so that it was near Karen. “Just go through there, but don’t get into my notebooks and little pockets, you might find something else… just kidding, of course.” Some people would probably not let other people go through their stuff, but Cynric… let’s just say he’s a noob at things like this.

“So senior year… time’s quick isn’t it?” he said, chuckling, “Probably not the best question out there, but are you participating? In the… you know?” Cynric mentally rolled his eyes in disbelief of his stupidity. out here channeling the writer’s trait sorry not sorry This wasn’t like the Squidward of Harry Potter; why did he just not say “Blue Royalty” directly? “In the Blue Royalty thingy?” Well there it is.

“It’s fine. Good on you for reacting.” Luna blinked, “Huh?” She asked, not understanding what he had just said. “That’s fair. Just try it if want.” Luna looked at it, “Can two people play with it?” Luna wanted to play with her dad, though she had to find a way for her step sister/brother/mother won’t be around to disturb or would be busy in their rooms. “I usually play at lunch so people don’t bother me.” Ben said snapping Luna back into reality, “Oh that’s good.” Luna just read whenever, most people didn’t approach her either way. The only one’s who approached her where her friends but everyone else just ignores her.

Easily withdrawing from the conversation with Maxon, her eyes fell on someone she had slightly more positive familiarity towards. “Try not to take this the wrong way, but this principle is a bit of a d*ck,” She started, though before Finley Klein, the principle’s son, had a chance to give an input, Annie continued the small rant. “The first day back and apparently I need a tutor. No I actually take it back, he is very much so one.”

”I just arrived and someone is already complaining to me about my father… Not that I disagree. But how adorable , you need a tutor… Who did he get you? I swear that’s all he does here,” it was a rare occasion for him to smile, but talking about this person he didn’t like that much could bring out his most sarcastic smile. ”Is it the same old story, ‘Miss, you’re failing and if you want to graduate we need to get your grades up’? I swear I can hear his annoying voice in my head.”

As she usually did, Annie had danced around the line between joking around and offending someone, and, judging by Finley’s response, she had managed to do so successfully. “It was going to happen eventually, sooner or later. And I think we both knew it was going to be me already complaining about your father. Justifiably, I’d say, though,” Annie made sure to point out that last phrase. “The same d*mn line since freshman year, I think by now I’ve got the point that I’m not graduating, thanks for reminding me continuously, though.”

”Justifiably, yes. But you know I love when people say everything I’m already thinking about,” his hatred , if one could call it that, for his father was not only obvious to his close friends but everyone around him. ”As much as I love seeing you struggle you know we can always do something about it?” Subtly raising his brow, there was now a faint smirk on his lips. ”He’s doing this because of your grades… okay, we can sneak into his office and change them. By now I know exactly when he’s not in there.”

Perhaps there was some tact in Annie approaching the principal’s son with her issue. She had hoped that he would be able to give a solution that no one else would being closer related and knowing more about the subject of her complaint. “Fin, I thought you’d never ask,” Annie exclaimed with a growing smile as he proved was in fact a good idea to talk to him, “No one would question the conveniently reformed straight-A student, right? Whoever the tutor was just must have been really good.”

”Of course no one would question that. Anyone can become a straight-A student overnight,” not so convincing, but hopefully she knew this go both ways. ”You just might have to find someone willing to lie for you… You’re friends with that kid… Amelia something? I swear my dad has a thing for her, he’d believe her. Plus you’d get her off my back, we both win.” He paused for a second, looking at the time on his phone. ”If we hurry we can do it now.”

She shook her head as Fin started naming people she could claim tutored her. “Details, details… that can be figured out… someday,” Annie insisted, as per usual, relying on her ‘ability’ to make up something on the spot when asked. As Fin said they could do it now, Annie was already backing away in the direction of the office. “Don’t have to tell me twice,” She exclaimed before turning with him into the room that contained framed images of plants and a bookshelf, but the central focus was the computer holding all information about students. Information including grades.

“So I’ve seen that people chose their password based off favourite things in their life,” Annie started, walking around the office while an ignoring Fin sat trying to unlock the computer. “Like, like a pet’s name. Or a car, or a person, or favourite colour. What would a principle’s favourite colour be? Probably grey, grey’s quite boring so it would be fitting, Fin try grey123,” Annie turned to him with her suggestion, only to see a loading screen appear from Fin’s correctly guessed password. “See, I told you,” Annie proudly stated as they switched over so that she was now sat in front of the desktop screen that had just appeared. “Why are old people so obsessed with the f*cking weather?” She thought out loud as she closed the mentioned tab to open the File Explorer.

Her eyes scanned the masses of data that opened up on the screen, soon finding one that led to the entire school reduced to files. “One folder for practically every teenager in Beryl Heights? I hate to tell you this, Fin, but your dad is probably a stalker. Or murderer. Or both,” Annie stated, though her voice subtly trailing off as she found the one titled Mariana Williams. While a wandering Fin stood out of sight from the screen, she opened to reveal the contents. Though she instantly saw the file on grades which they initially had come for, Annie became immediately distracted by the additional documents under her name.

Teachers notes, school counselling reports, principal’s comments, all enclosed into the document being read by the subject of them. Annie skimmed through the page in a silent, but growing, fury as she fixated on the words they had reduced her down to. Unsettled. Insufficient. Disruptive. Followed by the school’s attempt to find reasoning from those attributes through associating them with their scattered version of Annie’s childhood. As she let the increasing anger begin to consume her, it was suffice to say that Annie had completely forgotten why they had come in here, that fact also becoming apparent to Fin.

Annie stood up, unsure of what she was going to do, but knowing that she was going to do something. She had to do something. How could they talk about sh*t they didn’t know like that? And talk about her parents the way they did? “Just give me one f^cking second,” Annie snapped to a confused Fin, only seconds before the unstable bookshelf from across the room fell victim to Annie’s wrath, crashing as she shoved it away from where she was standing so it fell to the ground, books scattered across every inch of the area.

“Ever thought of using a Kindle?” Annie suggested, having calmed down slightly, as Principle Klein walked back in to see the turmoil that his office had become.

Walking into the detention room, Annie remained near to the back, at a close proximity to the exit door… just in case. Almost as soon as she sat down, she heard a voice of someone behind her, to which she soon recognised to be that of Enrique Montoya’s, giving her no reason to turn around straight away. “Or maybe you just dont know me at all and i’ve been down this ‘dark path’ for longer than you think,” Annie replied, finally turning to face him, her jaw half-heartedly dropping in sarcastic but humorous shock at the idea of that. Though she was ready to turn back around to the front, he continued. “Thank you so much for letting me know, but I will not be giving you any messages to send back to him. Big shock, I know.”

The whole seconds when Ari blabbered in response to him, Ives couldn’t help but let his skepticism grow more. He has grown with the mindset of “for everything, there is payment” after all, and he didn’t go this far being gullible and obedient. He seriously doubted this was her age of enlightenment and betterment; not during senior year. But she really seemed to need help, and so he just decided to go with the flow. He nodded and nodded, giving slight smiles to match her happy expressions.

“You know, for someone who says I’m rude, you’re even worst yourself.”

Ives was taken aback—well, not much—at her statement. What did he expect, though? He shrugged, laughing. “Well, what can I say? I love being a hypocrite sometimes.” he said, playing with the door keys in his hand, ever-so-slightly intending it to be loud as she talked again. “Sorry… sorry?” he repeated, making it sound like he was going to throw some big aggression on the girl later. He paused for a second, smiling insincerely. “Yeah, alright, I forgive you for things… but I’m not really the person you should be saying sorry to. If, you know, you’re genuine.” he rose his brows as he sighed, “So, was that what you wanted to talk about or is there something more?”

Ari noticed his skepticism and internally rolled her eyes, boy was he annoying. Here she was being kind to one of the uglies and he was there being annoying. Like ok she gets it, if she was one of the uglies and a pretty girl like her came up to her she would be kind of skeptical why she wanted to hang with her. But hey, at least she ain’t ugly like them lol.

Ari looked up to see Ives looking taken aback, she went back to facing her shoe lace with a small smile on her lips. “Well, what can I say? I love being a hypocrite sometimes.” Ari nodded and looked up, “I can see that, I really can.” Ives began playing with the door keys and Ari got annoyed. " You know You’re Like A Twister, You Just Blow Me Away." Yeah of annoyance, Ari thought trying to *shudder * flirt with him, hopefully he would take it as simply a kindly gesture and nothing more. “Yeah, alright, I forgive you for things… but I’m not really the person you should be saying sorry to. If, you know, you’re genuine.” If Ari wasn’t acting she would have rolled her eyes right there. God could he be any more annoying? ‘hey look at me i’m mr. nice and care about this and that and blah blah i’m also boring’ like ok Mulligan we get it. Ari sighed, “Yeah I planned on doing that, already apologies to some people” Ok that was a big fat lie, “And planned on apologizing to the rest.” She tucked a strand of her her hair backwards. “So, was that what you wanted to talk about or is there something more?” Ari bit her lips and smile, “I just wanted to get to actually know you,” Blench, She put a hand on his shoulders then took it away, she would need to use extra hand cleaning cream for that.

“You know you’re like a twister, you just blow me away,”

Ives halted, immediately stopping his keys, looking at Ari with an eye narrowed in confusion. What? he didn’t know how to react to it, but all he knew was that he was feeling embarrassed for the girl; fortunately, there weren’t much people around them. What was the girl attempting to do? Ives always hear these kinds of lines… and he didn’t want to assume, but…

… was she trying to flirt with him?

Now this could really stem from different reasons, but that was the least of Ives’s concerns. He nodded, a monotone “Uh…” slowly turning into a forced laughter. “That came out of nowhere… but hilarious,” he said, and although it sounded like he took it as a joke, it was really more of a reference to how honestly bad it was.

Again, Ives just nodded and nodded at Ari’s further positive statements. “Yeah, that’s good… do you want to stop by the cafeteria?” he said, contrary to what anyone would expect—an encouraging paragraph—especially after what it seemed like a dialogue out of one of those teenage or self-improvement movies. Aside from being hungry, he really thought the girl needed some morning starters too from what he’d seen. There was even this one chocolate candy advertisement he got reminded of thanks to her… now, what was that line again? “You’re not you when you’re hungry.”

Ari saw ives surprised look and she suppressed the urge to roll her eyes, God if she wanted to be as great as her parents she would have to make an effort to fake flirt and not use pick up lines 4th grade her would use on a trashcan- technically he was a trash can either way. A pig in human skin, an annoying being Ari mused insulting him in her head. Sigh, she wished she could just insult him and walk away like the awesome beautiful, gorgeous queen she was.

Ahhh she couldn’t wait for this to be over…

“Uh…” Ives said snapping Ari from her beautiful thoughts. “That came out of nowhere… but hilarious" he gave the fakest line ever. ‘but not as hilarious as your face’ Ari said really quietly so Ives wouldn’t hear.

“Yeah, that’s good… do you want to stop by the cafeteria?”

Ari froze. And be seen with you by more people? Ew, that could ruin her whole reputation. Ari bit her lips holding back the urge to throw up and what he said she smiled, “Uh… No no it’s ok.” she said beginning to play with the necklace she was wearing. She ran a finger through her hair and again resisting the urge to puke she looked at his lips then with a smile (ew) she looked back at her necklace. “So Ives are you contesting?” She asked.

Leah Mary Adams stepped out of her mother’s car, head tilted down. She clutched the straps of her backpack, carefully closing the door. “Remember! Be seen and not heard! Don’t forget to pray!” Her “mother” screamed after her like a harpy. She sighed, hurrying into school. Despite it being a warm day, Leah was dressed in a long sleeved, ankle length dress and black boots. If it wasn’t already obvious, her parents are extremely religious. Now, there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just that the Adams’s took it to a whole new level. Leah walked into school, settling down in a corner to do homework.

Waking up for Adonis had been hard. He was having a good dream and his mother had to ruin it by waking him up. Sigh, he was about to be given a blowjob from this strange girl in his dreams. He went to the bathroom, taken his shower he began singing, “Oooh oh” He sang. After some time he was done with his shower he brushed his teeth and put on the first clean clothes he saw.

Walking downstairs he saw his mother on her phone. “Good morning mom.” His mother looked at him and back at her phone, “I’ll call you later, Daria” she said and hang up the call. Aera, Adonis mother crossed her arms, “What are you wearing?” She asked and Adonis resisted the urge to groan. “I’m wearing clothes mom.” He told her. “it looks like you just wore the first set of clean clothes you saw” She said angrily, well it was the truth. That was exactly what he had done. “Go and change and wear better clothes” She firmly said. Adonis sighed and went back upstairs, he loved his mom he really does but sometimes she could be a pain.

After hours of searching for a cloth his mother would approve of, he finally found it “Finally!” He said letting out a breath. He wore it and went back downstairs. “Good morning bro” Calix his sibling said, Adonis smiled and gave a kiss on the cheek to his sibling. “Good morning to you too sib” His mother smiled at the interaction. Adonis poured some cereal in his plate and added milk, he smiled. “Why are you smiling Adon?” Kali asked from up the stairs with a yawn, Adonis smirked “Am I not allowed to smile anymore?” He asked, “Nope” Kali responded, she walked up to Adonis and gave him a peck on the right cheek “Good morning Adonis” She turned to Calix “Good morning Calix and good morning to you to mom” She said sitting down, she grabbed the cereal from Adonis. When their mother left, Kali leaned in and whispered “You Know Acantha still has a thing for you.” Acantha was one of Adonis past flings and also the elder sister of one of kali’s best friends. It was simply a fling but unfortunately for Acantha she had caught feelings. Ever since then Kali and her best friend have been trying to set them up their reasoning being ‘they would get to be sisters-in law’ or whatever.

“Ok and? You know what they had was simply a fling.” Calix said eating his cereal. Kali glared at her brother, “Shut up no one asked you.” Raising his hands, Adonis said “Whoah whoah everyone calm down here. Kali apologize to Calix” Kali sighed and rolled her eyes, “I’m sorry Cal.” She apologized. “Now on the topic of Acan-” Adonis got his backpack that lied on the floor and stood up, “Where are you going?” Kali asked. “To school” He loved his sister but there was no way in hell he would be tied down yet, especially to Acantha.

Adonis parked his car in the parking lot finally arriving at Cerulean High he sighed. He checked the mirror in his car to see how he looked, “Sexy as always eh?” He winked at his reflection. Coming of his car he spotted a girl with choppy brown hair and green eyes and he smiled to himself, she must have been new because he hadn’t seen this beautiful girl before. “Well hello there beautiful” He said to the girl giving her a wink. She giggled, “I’m Adonis and you are?” She tucked a strand of her beautiful choppy brown hair behind, “Niobi.” He smiled, “Niobi, Niobi what a beautiful name for a beautiful girl.” The girl blushed, “Are you new? Because I would have noticed if such a beautiful girl was in this school.” The girl nodded, “I need to go inside but can I request for your number? You don’t have to give me if you don’t want to” He reassured and she shook her hand, “I want to give you.” She said biting her lips, She extended her hand, “Can I have your phone?” Adonis nodded giving her the phone. She put her number on the phone, “Well Niobi it was nice meeting you I hope I see you again.” He told her blowing a kiss as he made his way inside.

Well it has been long, he thought walking through the halls.

After parting ways with Destiny, Embry continued down the hall, not prepared to go to class just yet. She stopped by her locker to fix her hair before walking towards the general area of her first class. As she turned a corner, she was startled by someone she hadn’t seen at first. Upon seeing who is was, she smiled. “Hey, Leah!” She greeted her, not realizing that Leah had been doing homework. “Oh, sorry, am I interrupting?” She apologized, unsure if she was disturbing the other girl.

“No…sorry about that.” Luna bit her lip in disappointment, well there goes her plan. Well she could seat down and watch her dad play hopefully he wouldn’t mind that she wasn’t playing and feel bad. “Do you know any games where two players are allowed?” Luna asked giving him pleading eyes. “Yeah, I’m pretty happy about that. I’m actually not much of a talker.” Same, Luna thought. She wasn’t much of a talker, she prefers to text than call, she prefers to sit alone and read a book and she preferred to listen than talk- though it could get quite awkward and so she tries her best to communicate, this was her situation now. Luna coughed, “I know you said you weren’t much a book person but do you recommend any books?” Luna asked trying to make the scene less akward.

It’s similar to Breath of the Wild, but you get to play as multiple characters instead of just one. It’s free, too.” He smiled. He loved talking about video games. She asked if he recommended any books, and he had to think. “Oh, the Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children books are really good. I think you’d like them. There are six.”

“I hope the same for you.” They responded, smiling when she opened her hands, asking for a hug. “Always.” They told her, nodding as they stepped into her arms, wrapping their arms around her. They weren’t really the type of person to like being touched, but they couldn’t deny that they loved getting hugs from their friends and family. “So what do you feel like doing first?” Niko thought for a moment, considering that there wasn’t much to do in the school. “I don’t actually know. Maybe go to the library?”

His face remained stoic as he faced the girl in front of her. Logan… fcking… Blackwood. Great. The girl was seemingly sitting by herself in this empty classroom doing…well… god knows what. Though if Mason had to guess, it seemed as if she was trying to finish up an assignment before class. If there was one word he could use to describe Logan, it would be busy. That’s simply because anytime he saw the girl, she was running around doing something or another. From football practice to… working after school… to well… here. Personally, he didn’t mind a girl on the football team - a certain controversy which occurred over the past year and a half (?) when she joined the team. What he did mind was the was the subtle way she didn’t trust him. Though trust was a difficult thing for some, it was something he didn’t necessarily understand.

After a few seconds of seeing her, his usual relaxed expression returned - a smile on his face. The one thing he understood was to get trust, a simple smile worked wonders. Though with her Yeah, right. and roll of her eyes, he knew she didn’t necessarily believe him. With that, she continued - mentioning that he should cut the bull and he allowed a practiced confused expression to meet his features. “I don’t know what you mean, Logan. Really it was just my mom, though I can’t do anything if you don’t trust me.” He started, a sigh leaving his lips as he walked closer to where she was. There was a look on her features which told him she wasn’t buying… well… any of what he was selling. So he simply continued, “But say in some case, if it wasn’t my mother. Why would I… ‘cut the bull’? If you didn’t notice, me dipping into an empty classroom to make a phone call meant it was personal. I doubt you would want to know If I was calling someone like my therapist or doctor, just like I wouldn’t necessarily feel comfortable telling a girl I barely know that information. So please… do me a favor. If someone is trying to save a conversation from possibly being awkward, just let them, Logan.”

So maybe the “mom” lie wasn’t working, but perhaps a little detour in the conversation would reduce her curiosity of what was really going on. “Anyways, what are you doing in here? Or would you rather just quit the small talk too and have me disappear so you can continue working on… Algebra?” he questioned, looking over to the sheet of paper. “You did question 2 wrong by the way,”
