Blue Royalty: New Blood

Denise Copeland

Waking up knowing today is the day she get a chance to help my father in the best way she could think of and that her plan was actually possible now that she was in the school, Denise Copeland could not conatin her girly scream while looking at herself in the mirror. Was she excited! Considering the fact she wants to join the cheerleaders, her outfit consisted of a short shirt which she hopes would help her be seen as a cheerleader if she applies today. She put on a little makeup even thought she usually doesn’t need it just because she didn’t know what to do until it was time to go. Today her father promised to give her a ride because he wasn’t quite sure why she would want to go here and still believes she shouldn’t, but her obviously excited face proved him that he shouldn’t worry about anything and thus he offered to drive her.

Denise was in the school feeling a bit excited and a bit sick because she was too excited to eat anything earlier, so she was heading to the automat hoping to get a chocolate bar or something to not make her even more nervous or to not make her very hungry and/or sickly afterwards. As she was walking to the automat she noticed a boy walking her way greeting her with a smile and a quick way. She wasn’t quite sure if it was for her or somebody behind her, so she looked back to see nobody there, and back at the boy to greet him aswell. She smiled for this unexpected but very welcome greeting from a stranger, gave a wave as quick as his and said “Hello to you too! Are you a student here?” She asked, hoping whatever problems she might have with finding a class or some other part of the school, he could tell her if she asks.

@Caticorn

“No, my name is Jackie, you see my mother wanted for me to be a girl just like all my sisters so she can name me Wakanda or something, just like all my sisters. You’ve heard of some of my sisters? They’re all models turned actresses or are on their way of being that way. Some of them are happy with it, some of them are not, but mom certainly doesn’t care how I turn out, which is weird considering the fact I am one of those who enjoys modeling, but the only one who is … forced to?” I sighed. “And what about you? What are you parents like?”

As they walked through the library, Niko scanned the shelves, trying to find a book that piqued their interest. They stopped for a moment to pull a copy of 1984 from the shelf before Tsumuji grabbed their hand and lead them towards some chairs. They sat down, crossing one leg over the other. “Yes, of course!” They answered, setting their book down in their lap. They kept their voice low so that they wouldn’t disturb the people around them.

“Yes, of course!” Tsumuji gave a bright smile. “Ok so what is-” Tsumuji paused trying to find the right question to ask. Tsumuji shook her head, she finally found the right question to ask. With a friendly smile she asked “What motivates you to work hard?” She played with a hair, “Like is it a person? a thing? If it is too personal I’m sorry I asked, I don’t want you to be upset with me.” Tsumuji began apologizing, she looked down on the ground “I’m sorry, I’m sorry” she apologized.

Embry heard Leah mutter something, but she couldn’t make out what she said. “Pardon?” She asked, hoping she would repeat it at a higher volume. As Leah began talking about how she could only read approved books, Embry could feel her concern for the girl growing. “Approved by who?” She asked, genuinely curious about who would restrict someone from reading anything but the Bible. “No reason. Just forget I said anything.” She responded when Leah told her she was fine.

“Yeah, I really like the old games. All the games now are just shooters. Not to mention, vor makes me sick. And yet I love roller coasters. Go figure.” Luna just nodded, not really knowing what to say. “Oh, the books are great. It’s fantasy\horror, so hopefully you don’t get scared to easily. " Ben muttered something at the end but Luna didn’t quite catch it. Anyways, Luna didn’t get scared easily, she lived with her evil step family so hurray! they could do worst but she did get scared just not as easily she used to do when she was in middle school like in 6th grade, “Yeah I don’t get scared easily” she shrugged.

Ben nodded when Luna said she didn’t get scared easily. “That’s good. If you’re too afraid, you’ll never get anywhere in life.” Wait, when did he get so philosophical? Maybe he should smoke more. “Yeah, I’m a huge horror fan. Horror movies, Serial killers, you name it. If it’ll scare the crap out of someone, I like it. I’m not a scary person though. Or, at least I try not to be. Have you heard of Creepypasta?”

Annie let out a sigh of minor frustration to Enrique’s guess of what path she was on. It was less about the fact that he was way off that had annoyed her, but more so the repeating theme of people making their own assumptions about her. From the teacher’s report she had read hours earlier and now this… basically stranger. “Thanks for your insight into my life. Except I didn’t f*cking ask,” Annie responded, her voice now flooded with hostility to allow for the conversation to come to an abrupt end, shrugging before completely turning her back to him to face the front. As she turned her eyes switched up to the clock, what seemed like twenty minutes passed had actually been two: leaving a long hour ahead of her.

Once again the voice of the person behind her reappeared, returning to the subject of his father. “Oh, my God, you’re still talking…” She muttered under her breath in between a gap in his dialogue, letting it be audible enough for him, pinching the bridge of her nose. It wasn’t that Annie necessarily disliked Enrique. Well… it was, though it was more a disliking by association with other people. But it was still enough to make a small effort to prevent any interaction, such as the one they were having. Though it wasn’t enough to stop her from listening to whatever he had to say.

The amusement, that Annie didn’t even have to turn around to know was on his face, began to be passed forward to her too as his point began to unravel as he spoke. “What is that, are you trying to challenge me, or something, Montoya?” She asked with an eyeroll as her head then turned to the side, but still not fully to be facing him again. Of course Annie was no stranger to ditching a class or, in this case, a detention to go and do something… probably stupid. But from how this conversation had started, and continued to go, and, once again, the people he knew, there was an automatic sense of hesitation. “And what are you getting out of this? Or- don’t tell me- is this you wanting to help fire back for the weak and powerless who could never do so alone, as it’s just the charitable person you are?” She asked with not a single part of her believing that was the reason. Then, finally, Annie fully turned to him. “Because if that is the case, don’t worry, if I wanted to send a message I could do it myself.”

“That’s good. If you’re too afraid, you’ll never get anywhere in life.” Luna nodded, yeah especially when she is living with step family. Luna smiled softly, “uh thanks?” She said scratching her back, well this wasn’t awkward at all. Luna blinked, this reminded her when she tried to talk to her crush Amanda but it went well badly because Luna then wasn’t good at social interactions, it wasn’t like she knew how to interact well now but it was a little better than before. Luna also remembered her crush on Adonis, but it faded softly just like her crush on Amanda did. Which was good because she wouldn’t have a chance with either of them, sigh. “Yeah, I’m a huge horror fan. Horror movies, Serial killers, you name it. If it’ll scare the crap out of someone, I like it. I’m not a scary person though. Or, at least I try not to be. Have you heard of Creepypasta?” Luna snapped her head to look at him, “Creepypasta?” Luna had never heard of it, it was probably from the gen z era but Luna haven’t heard her dad talk about it and he loved talking about things from that era. Luna played with her blonde hair, “No, I don’t know what creepypasta is.”

Luna bit her lips, she wanted to go back to reading but she didn’t want to seem rude and it would be good if she made more friends as her dad says. But Ben was a little weird, especially with his whole obsession with video games but hey who was Luna to judge she had an obsession with Londrick. D bootlicks books, being the wallflower among her friends when they go to parties and just being generally awkward. “So what is your favorite movie?” Wow what a nice way to continue to conversation Luna.

”Au revoir,” Phoebe immediately replied to Clara, keeping a smile as the girl was walking away from her. The moment she couldn’t see her anymore, Phoebe let out a loud sigh, leaning back against the wall and closing her eyes. I have somewhere to be my ass. Was she happy that Clara did end up leaving? That she was. There was nothing more she wanted than to be away from her but she, herself, couldn’t just walk away. Friendly smiles and a positive attitude is what she had to have in her presence. She didn’t want Clara to go around snitching on her. I’m in… such a mess… She thought, her mind going back to the day her dear friend just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. But she couldn’t blame her and as much as Phoebe abhorred the thought of that, she was the one who was at fault. Her and her lust for fun.

Opening her eyes and pushing herself off the wall, she fixed her shirt before heading to her first class. Sweet smile plastered on her lips as she passed by a group of boys she used to go to class with last year. They were all certainly confused with her being a senior now but she didn’t care what they were all thinking. She was there rightfully. “Hi,” she’d say to them, her hair bouncing when she just continued walking, not stopping for a little chat. What she wanted to do now, surprisingly, was go to class. Go to her class so she could be with her new friends and sit down as a girl who was on the list. She took a lot of pride in that. But she stopped in her tracks, hearing her phone ring.

watch you sleep - girl in red

In a rush, she took out the phone from her bag and the smile on her face only grew bigger when she noticed it was a message from her favorite person, right after her family, Aj. She hasn’t heard from him that morning, or the night before, she did not see him in school when she arrived but she was a little too distracted by her sister and events that took place before this very moment. So to see it was him was a big relief… until she opened the message and immediately groaned. This one time when she was actually excited about a class she did not like, she couldn’t go. Apparently Aj was sick and in those times Phoebe would drop everything she was doing and go keep him company. It’s what she’s always been doing and it was never hard for her, no matter what she was doing, no matter where she was or who she was with. She’d always put him above everything.

To: My b!tch

On my way :)

Pressing the send button, she looked up from her phone at the door in front of her, a classroom she was supposed to be in but before anyone could spot her, she turned around and walked back from the direction she came from. Luckily her mom was not home to kill her for skipping school so she could make soup for her sick friend. And hopefully Amie won’t kill her for ditching her and leaving her to figure out how to go back home since Phoebe was the one driving.

*

“Hello?” Carefully closing the door behind her, she called out for anyone who could hear her… if someone was downstairs. It was unusually quiet which she noticed from the moment she got inside when no one answered the door. To her luck it was unlocked so she could come in freely but it was odd to see the house empty. It was almost like her second home at this point, but whenever she would visit, Logan and Betty were always there. She really grew to love them, especially Logan, Aj’s little brother. It was always easy with him since Phoebe had many siblings so whenever Betty, the nanny, needed help with something, she would leave Aj and be there for her. “Betty? Looogan?” She called out again, now leaning against the wall and sneaking up to the living room, expecting Logan would be there to “attack” her but when she turned there really was no one. They must’ve gone out, leaving the door unlocked, it wouldn’t be the first time.

Walking to the kitchen, Phoebe found the only cup she’d seen Aj with and quickly made some tea before making her way upstairs. Knocking lightly first, she opened the door to his room. “I swear your family wants you dead, it was unlocked again,” she said through a chuckle, walking across the room to his bed, setting the cup down on the little night stand and letting her bag drop down to the floor. “I made you tea first… How are you feeling?” Sitting down, she gently placed a hand on his cheek with a sweet but concerned smile. “I hope hearing you missed one epic fight on the parking lot won’t make you feel worse.” She jokingly added, giggling, before he got a chance to answer.

It was the second week of school and she didn't even get a drop of sleep the night before. Sleep seems to be harder and harder to get lately. Although she had been up all night, she was not prepared at all. Almost being late to school. She cares about that though, unlike others. Running around her house at 7 am like a mad man, and having to toss whatever on. Total time taken: 15 minutes. Total time to get to the school: 15 minutes. If she pushed her foot on the gas pedal: 10 minutes. She bit the inside of her cheek as she pulled out of the driveway. Natalia waited until her house was out of sight to go a... little bit over the speed limit because if her parents found out, well it wouldn't be good. Her dad is like a bear to wake up. It isn't pretty. Uncle Dori was the only one to get him actually up in five minutes. Mom was close, but she took 10 minutes. Soon arriving at the one and only Cerulean High.

Speed Walking through the school became a habit for her. it’s as if time didn’t exist cause she was always falling behind. Accidentally bumping into quite a lot and muttering quick apologies then moving on. She came to a halt real quick when she saw her brother and Amie rushing away from him. She knew stuff happened between them. It was always awkward when Nat would be on a call with her and Alex would come into her room. She would give a quick ‘Sorry, I’ve got to go. I’ll talk to you later. Bye!’ and then hang up. She looked extremely stressed and Alex… well he looked scattered. It took her a moment before rushing over to him.

What does she say? Might as well just go for it. For being in these situations before, she isn’t the best at them. “Hey, what did I tell you about making them run… you’re not gonna score a date like that,” She jokingly shook her head, trying to lighten the mood a little bit. She awkwardly laughed before continuing,“But seriously, are you okay? What happened?” he might not even answer to it, but it was worth a try. Nat paused for a moment, considering the girl practically ran from him was not a good sign. “It’ll get better… eventually.” She spoke her best words of encouragement and hoped for the best.

Nevaeh brushed her hair softly, gazing at herself in the mirror. Her first day at Cerulean High School would be today. Cerulean High, the school he was in. Nevaeh had to admit she felt a little nervous to see him again, but she would play it cool. Nevaeh smirked, she would play it cool just like she always did. Running a finger through her hair and in a voice as quiet as a mouse she whispered,’just like I always do’.
“Nevi, sweetie, come and eat” Her mother called from downstairs. “Coming mom!” Neveah shouted. Standing up, she arranged her black leather jacket and skirt. Taking another good look in the mirror, she nodded contentedly at herself. She exited the room and headed to the dining room. Sabina, her younger sister, was busy typing. Probably talking to Jessie, her best friend. Her mother was chatting on the phone with her dad who had travelled on a business trip, Johari was doing whatever Johari does, Icarus was reading and Carlos & Carla were giggling- they were probably up to something. “Buongiorno, everyone,” Nevaeh greeted. “Morning” They all responded, well all except Sabina. “Buongiorno, Sabina,” Nevaeh said. Sabina finally took her eyes off her phone and looked at Neveah. With a smile she said “You look great.” She commented. Nevaeh gave her a kiss on the forehead, “Don’t I always?” After some seconds the chef arrived carrying a tray. He went around the table and dropped their food. “Thank you for the food Mr. Paul” She thanked, Mr. Paul, their chef, just nodded.

After finishing her food, Nevaeh entered her car and drove herself to Cerulean High. Finally arriving Nevaeh sighed, well this was it. Upon taking one good look at this school, Neveah could already tell that this school would be something. Not something great or something bad but it would be something. Oh well, she came down from the car and bit her lips.

She walked towards the halls looking around, ‘Well it isn’t bad’ she thought. After some time of looking around, Nevaeh decided it would be a good idea to make friends. She looked at everyone standing in the hallways and analyzed them, the red haired chick seemed like someone who would annoy her to dirt, the dark-haired guy seemed like a player and the tall blonde male seemed like he would be a nice funny guy. She dusted herself off and walked towards him, “Hey” she greeted, “I’m Nevaeh” She introduced in a low soothing voice.

Leon watched the girl looked around her and then waved back at him. She walked over to him and greeted him, asking if he was a student. He nodded in response. “Yeah, I am.” He answered, putting his hands in his pockets, his sleeves bunching around his wrists. “I’m Leon, what’s your name?” He asked her, assuming that she was new to the school. He didn’t recognize her and definitely had no idea what her name was, so he hoped that he was right in his assumption.

He’d just walked away from Xavier when Tyler heard girl’s voice behind him. He turned, greeting the dark skinned girl with a smile. “Hey Neveah. I’m Tyler. Wait, that’s heaven backwards, isn’t it? That’s cool.” She seemed to be a very interesting person, based on what she was wearing. Maybe he should introduce her to Mia to make up for his tasteless comment earlier. Thank god she didn’t hear him.

“Hey Neveah. I’m Tyler. Wait, that’s heaven backwards, isn’t it? That’s cool.” Nevaeh gave him a soft smile. She hated being reminded that her name was heaven spelt backwards. Back when she was in greece a lot of people would annoy her with the comment ‘hey isn’t that heaven spelt backwards? I want to name my daughter that when I grow up. Ha ha’ They knew it was heaven spelt backwards so why did they have to ask fricking time. “Yeah, I guess it’s cool.” She shrugged. She gave him a ‘friendly’ smile “So Would you mind showing me around?” she asked. Yeah, She had made the right choice to come up to Tyler. She could feel he would be a nice guy.

Tyler noticed that Nevaeh seemed uncomfortable that he mentioned her name. “Oh, I’m sorry about that. Well if you want to.” She wasn’t going to force the guy to take her around. “So what is this cool like?” Nevaeh asked, walking with him. She wanted to know more about this school and the people, you needed to know your enemies and friends if you wanted to make it in life. Nevaeh bent down to arrange her thigh high black boots and continued walking with Tyler.

I mean, the people can be slightly stuck up, but most are nice. I guess that’s what happens when you go to a rich school.” He said.
