While grabbing a pre-packaged salad for lunch, she heard a notification on her phone. She sat down at a cafeteria table and started reading it.
“Come outside for a surprise?” Her eyebrow curved up. She didn’t know who sent the text to her since it was anonymous, but she was still excited nonetheless. She put the salad in her bag and rushed outside. Since prom was coming up, it had to be about that right? Maybe it was a secret admirer. She exited the school doors without even noticing Elodie. She was met with someone standing in front of her with flowers in his hand. She recognized him from instagram as one of the people on her perfect match list and he wasn’t someone that she would typically date. He awkwardly stood in the middle of the road staring at her. She saw something floating in the sky so she looked closer. It was a banner and when she saw the word prom, her lips immediately curved into a smile. The music coupled with the banner made this situation even more surreal. She felt as if she was being proposed to, or like a princess being asked to the ball. Then she spotted…Daniel…walking towards her.
“What is he doing here?” She thought.
“Can you believe Lyonrad had me set all this up for little old you? Someone obviously has a crush.”
“You set this up? But wh-nevermind, just don’t screw anything up kay? At least you did something good for once.” She patted his arm as he walked away. The guy, Lyonrad, came up to her and handed her the flowers and chocolates. “These are…small…but they look delicious on the box.” She said while holding the box of chocolates. “So, I want to know right now, why did you pick me?” She was hoping to hear some kind of explanation on how beautiful she was or something;
