In a flash of three days, Tala’s life had completely turned upside down—everything passed by uncalled for; what happened in those small exchange of night and day was… she actually couldn’t describe it. The night at the prom, especially, when all she ought to do was find Mikel and get him to his right state of mind, but something else got in her way. She wasn’t sure if she was delighted or worried—maybe both, but leaning towards the softer side, perhaps. Tala hadn’t seen him for so long, but the feelings didn’t really fade away. Why would it be? They broke apart only in favor of what surrounded them… it was never because of them.
And Daniel Parker came in. Ever since then, what he would call her was “love”—not her type, but it had to be done. She almost forgot the reason she was acquainted to the man, but all of it was refreshed and repaid, hopefully, by the favor he asked of her. She was fine with it, but she didn’t knew the consequences it would give her. She didn’t know why, but when the “relationship” was revealed, friendships around her thinned into a fragile state. She’d been suffering with worry about it since then, and it only got her more conflicted—the comeback of a someone and the growing fragility of a treasured friendship.
To top it all was total devastation. That night, surely, was an eventful night, but neither of those events happening in such a little time made her smile. Well, maybe the fact that she got a good date that is Zion Pestana… but it still didn’t overshadow the fact that everything was… not a pleasure. Third was the last straw—the girl who was known for being tough finally gave in to tears, drowning into the pit of sadness she didn’t know she was to face when she signed up for this. Candice Clarke, a girl she held close to her heart, appeared today on the television, surprising and welcoming her morning with a news she didn’t believe… at least in her first minutes of breaking down. As her tears fell to the news, her mind was manifested by questions of why.
But alas, she had to accept it. And oh—was it mentioned it was the last time she’d be in conflict? Tala had almost already forgotten how she and CC met—a connection made through her parents. She didn’t realize how much conflict she’s in until she got a message from her brother, retelling her the news of CC’s death. Now what was she gonna do?
Well, as much as she hated to—lie again.
“Are you coming?” was the question she didn’t know how to answer. Of course she was coming to her friend’s funeral, but the flesh of the question wasn’t limited to its surface. “Are you coming home?” was what it truly meant, and Tala didn’t know how that would work. Should she really lie again?
Tala finally came to a conclusion the next day—exactly the day where she would face everything, but hopefully get away with it. She still wanted to continue what she had started, but that will only be determined by how well she could play it out today. Arriving late in the venue, which this time is late on purpose, making it look like she just came straight from the airport with her leather jacket companion, she quickly travelled her eyes from one corner to another, searching for her family. She missed them so much, and thankfully what she had in mind made it convenient for her.
She quickly spotted them, but she wanted to pay respects to CC first; however, the sight of Lily-Ann didn’t really make her want to continue. The devil… was her first thought at the sight of her. Even at her daughter’s death, she was still this eager to continue her schemes. All for fame and reputation—all for image. To think about it, it must be her fault. Maybe she was the reason why CC died in a car crash at her eighteenth (?) birthday. It was unreasonable, but Tala stood still on her opinion.
