[insert Aline Ribeiro in fancy colours]
A grin pulled at her lips, bubbles of laughter escaping. “Yeah exactly, a rave at your grave.” He said he’d always want her to show up and she shifted, looking down. “I just thought that if you and Lui broke up I wouldn’t be high on your favourite people list anymore.” Not that she could even blame him for that if that would be how he felt. If she was dating someone and then they broke up, she was positive that she would be avoiding any and all of their relatives, especially their twin. But she really vibed with Gio, more than she had with all of Luciano’s past relationships. He genuinely was a good guy and they made each other happy, which made Aline happy. She couldn’t see any reason for them to break up anytime soon (unless something completely random like Lui’s cheating ex decided to pay him a visit after months of being split up but that was very unlikely to happen and was 100% a baseless thought), so she was just going to hope that they wouldn’t. As that would change so much.
Gio agreed with her idea, which caused a smile to widen across her face. “Yay!” Aline was excited—birthdays in general were always soo exciting—even though it was still a few months away. She wanted to imagine that the day was going to be fun-filled and not full of ex drama or anything so she pretended that there was no possibility of that ever occurring. Ignorance truly is bliss. “It’ll be great, it’ll be sooo great.”
“They are actually, but not all. Like, apart from Lui I think the favorite and most amazing people I’ve met in my life were all girls. Maybe I’m wrong though.” Her lips quirked upwards in a smile. “I don’t think you’re wrong, we’re the superior sex obviously,” she smirked. “But I’ve met some guys that were also most amazing people so they do exist. Maybe you just haven’t gotten to meet the best ones yet.”
“Clearly no one has that. They just all settle for mediocre best men instead of just taking you. Their lives are just empty.” She laughed at that last remark but nodded. “That’s their problem, no wonder so many marriages don’t last; it’s because they’re using below average best men instead of the best woman. Me!” She sighed, sadly shaking her head. “All the weddings I could save, shame.”
“Obviously.” Jokes aside, it would be real weird if they eloped right then. She wouldn’t oppose it because, well, why would she—like, if you want to get married, go ahead, it didn’t really bother her, and it wasn’t usually something she would make a big fuss about —but it certainly was weird to imagine her brother having a husband at eighteen.
