“See you,” with a soft, almost shy smile she replied to Kara, watching her as she was walking away. That smile remained on her lips but she still had this weird feeling in her stomach. It was nice to see things were normal between them, that Kara was her normal sassy self and didn’t really mind Elodie being so absent, but something was still bothering her. She felt guilty in a way - for what happened, for not telling her anything and keeping it all inside. Taking a deep breath in, she took a look around herself, watching as students were talking or just passing by, the usual morning faces she would see, just trying to clear her mind and convince herself that everything was fine.
She could hear them complaining about upcoming exams or just talking about the camping trip that was in a few days, catching some glances from a group of freshman girls that turned around the second Elodie looked at them.
But that didn’t last long as Elodie smiled at them as soon as they looked back at her, eagerly returned the smiles. After prom she noticed things like that happening more often and she… enjoyed it. It was flattering. Opening her bag, she turned to the other side, almost facing the wall as she tried to find something she completely forgot about yesterday. Mother wouldn’t be so happy to hear about it. And when she did, she quickly popped the pill in her mouth and opened the water bottle she always carried around in her bag. Taking a few more sips of the water, she continued walking in the opposite direction of Kara. Hearing her own name she instantly spotted a person she hasn’t seen in quite some time and quickly threw the bottle back in her bag, rushing towards him with, probably, the most genuine smile. “Theo,” she whispered as she hugged him back tightly, that smile remaining on her lips. “You too, good to have you back,” she giggled, letting her hands resting on his shoulders for a second before moving them to the collar of his shirt as her gaze lowered. “And hey, you look good as well. It’s really been a while, hasn’t it?” Quickly moving her hands and taking a step back, she looked back up at him with a soft smile. “And I missed you too… We all did!” She quickly corrected herself, for some reason feeling slightly nervous. “I mean, I missed you more than anyone here but forget I said that,” she jokingly added, for a second looking down at the ground
