Valerie sighed as she listened to the girl, not taking her eyes off her. Valerie honestly didn’t know what she was feeling at that moment, it was a new territory she never thought she’d find anywhere outside Netflix. Her once dead best friend just showed up alive, after faking her death and disappeared? How was she supposed to feel about that? Happy? Mad? Relieved? Sad? Disappointed? Right now… she was mostly just confused and still shocked in many ways. But it was actually real, she pinched herself enough times to know this wasn’t some psychedelic dream.
”I came back because of this" she said, and showed Valerie a message from blue royalty, who somehow found out like they find out everything, and threatened to expose all these different people, herself included. ”Fcuk” she mumbled as she read the text
“I never expected to come back… but Val I was always going to tell you one day.”
Valerie sighed and looked down, running her hand through her hair to move it away from her face ”When…?” she asked, ”It’s been ages. Or at least it felt like it” she added, letting out a huff of air from her nose with the last part of the sentence

why am I not surprised? Valerie thought to herself. This man just keeps surprising every day doesn’t he?
“he helped me fake my death… I know he’s usually an awful guy and you should never make a deal with the devil but he owed me and… he knew how to do it without anyone finding out… well except blue royalty apparently.”

Valerie raised a brow and partly furrowed the other, as the girl mentioned Daniel to be an awful guy. A thing she had once agreed with, but now? Now she didn’t think that was true anymore… in fact, he was quite great. Valerie’s lips curved in a subtle smile as her mind momentarily wandered to the supposedly awful guy, but soon enough re-focused on her not-so-dead best friend ”Well… he’s not as bad as you think” she said ”but that isn’t important.” she said brushing it off
”So now… what’s happening? You’re back? Are you leaving again? Where are you even staying?” she asked, as all these questions came into her head one after the other ”Where even were you all this time?” she added
