Valerie laughed as the alien exposure ”You should have never folded. I’m all on to your secret evil plan cc. And no that does not stand for Candice Clarke it stands for Candice clone” she added sticking out her tongue. ”AAH THE BRAIN WIPE THO!! NOOO” she called out with a gasp and hid her face.
“Doesn’t mean you can’t win, V. Stop being so hard on yourself. You’re amazing,”
To be fair, she wasn’t wrong. Valerie was very hard on herself, almost always. It was one of the biggest setbacks in her life, and although she didn’t tend to show it around people, she just never seemed to believe she was worth it in any way, any of it. Not just the spot on the list, but everything, love, her friends, her kickstarting career, Daniel… none of it. And cc knew that, she was one of the very few people who actually knew that, because frankly the girl knew her better than anyone, even now. ”Yeah it’s fine don’t worry”* she said ”It’s not like I stopped trying though, I’m still in” she smirked, and she wasn’t going to quit, especially not now. Valerie wood was not a quitter, she started something, and she’s going to finish it in the best way she can.
“Right…”
They kept on eating. Valerie knew Candice didn’t trust Daniel, and even though she couldn’t blame her, and had nothing to do to change that, it bothered her. She wanted cc to support her, but for what it’s worth, Valerie just simply needed to prove her wrong.
So as they went on, Valerie heard Candice speak but was not fully focused on what was happening in the room as for that moment, as she was texting on her phone
"Daniel?” She asked, and as Valerie finished typing she looked back at her ”Fire escape-” she responded to the previous thing that was said ”No, Jessica actually” she said and put her phone down ”It’s Kai’s birthday, she wants to throw him a surprise party and I’m kinda needed on that” Valerie explained ”How about, we raincheck the skating to the weekend and go plan a wicked party?” she suggested with a smirk and finished her food
