The girl rolled her eyes; the apparent smile on her lips as he said that he doesn’t want a repeat of those weeks where they weren’t having sex. Though in retrospect; there was a clear difference in their interactions a few weeks ago to now. What could she say? Yara was really right about the ‘in bed’ notion with Kai. So sue her; it was hard to stay away. Though the smirk on her face only grew when he agreed to her lingerie store stop. “Really? That wouldn’t have anything to do with you seeing me in various skimpy outfits would it?” she teased. It was fun; teasing him in every single thing he did. From paying the bill to simple sexual innuendos; though, at this point, she doubted she could truly surprise him with her antiques anymore.
“Your girlfriend doesn’t need you to pay for her either and since it is technically your birthday; you have to let me without arguing,” Jess explained. “Call it your birthday present to me after making me step in that horrid ER,” she continued - an irony in the statement of her asking for a birthday present on his birthday. Though the day only continued to get more interesting with the waitress who was flirting with him. Could she blame her? Nah; Kai was hot - she’d consider flirting with him too if she say him on the street. Though her method of flirting was more of her just rambling or making a mess of herself. The waitress, on the other hand, was doing a great job at it. Light touches here and there, the soft laugh, the messing with her hair. It was grade A flirting. Jessica should have honestly taken notes.
As he ordered; the girl still fawning over every word he said - Jess raised her eyebrows with a twinkle in her eye as he asked what she’d like; specifically mentioning the word girlfriend in his statement causing a visible annoyance in the waitress.
“Right… well again I’d love to see what was off the menu if you… no sigh alright? That was just for him… what a shame…” Jess quipped before looking through the menu. “Can I have the strawberries and cream crepes, the cupcake pancakes, the green chile omelet, the strawberry banana french toast… go ahead and throw in the chicken and waffles, two helpings of hash browns, some french fries and what the hey, I’m on a diet, so can you throw in some fresh fruit too?” Jess smiled at the girl closing the menu and handing it to her. “Actually, screw the diet. Go ahead and throw in the mozzarella sticks and two chocolate milkshakes instead - I’m no heathen; can’t eat french fries without a milkshake and I think I can convince this idiot to have one with me,”
Jess finished. “Oh… and if you get a few people to come over here and sing happy birthday I may consider breaking up with Kai for you so he can take you up on that… off the menu offer,” Jess joked; smiling as the girl gave her what could only be described as a mixture of confusion, disgust, and a look towards kai of he could do better than a girl who eats the whole IHOP menu in a sitting.
As the girl headed off to get the order together she shot a smile towards Kai; though over the past few weeks he knew she had an appetite and could eat and didn’t seem at all surprised by the order. “She was hot; you sure you don’t want to trade up? Seems like a pretty good birthday wish love.”
