As much as everything around her was beautiful, it was also just a little bit strange. She was more than happy for her friends, family but this was not something she wanted for herself, not yet. Andy and Ketziah were expecting a child, they would get married soon… and Elodie was excited about that. Excited to see such a beautiful thing happening to someone close to her. But they weren’t the only ones. She was at another wedding, another person she knew that was around her age. Theo already had a child. Jezebel was pregnant not even a month ago. Mady… Were there more she didn’t even know about? Perhaps. But that wasn’t what she wanted at this stage of her life. She was in a happy relationship, she was extremely happy with a guy that made her feel loved everyday and that wasn’t something she expected when she first met him. She often thinks about that, how unhappy she was then, how hurt and confused, how she even refused to think about giving Riker a chance after he asked if she was single at prom, not even after Jordan tried to change her mind. She was happy it didn’t end like that. Just look at her now, it was the happiest she’s ever been and no words could describe how much she loved Riker. But she was just finishing high school, she’ll move out soon and be far away from her family. That’s what she wanted to experience first - living alone at times when Riker wouldn’t be able to be with her, going to college, being an adult. There was time for everything else.
Elodie looked around the place, trying to spot Ketziah at the same time Andy did, but with so many people at one place she knew finding that one specific person would be impossible. She hasn’t seen any of her friends yet, just her brother and now Andy. “Do you have it planned out?” She curiously and quietly asked, looking back at him. “You know… asking her?” Whispering so people around her wouldn’t hear her, a sweet smile crept across her face. “Or are you just carrying it around with you, waiting for a good moment?” That wouldn’t be something that would surprise her, a spontaneous proposal, but chuckling, Elodie jokingly added.
