It was nice to hear the compliments from Gio, especially since, if he was being honest, his opinion meant a lot to him, but he couldn’t help the feeling of guilt that burrowed itself deeper at this. It’d been three months, give or take, from the accident and he’d had a lot of time to work through his emotions surrounding that day, but there was still a lot left unresolved, especially with the fact that Gio didn’t even remember it. It would’ve been better if he woke up and was angry, if he woke up and refused to speak to him because now… now, he could manipulate the day, even unintentionally, to make himself seem better when, in truth, he wasn’t sh!t. He just wished he could thoroughly talk it through with Gio and he knew that would be difficult with the one-sided version of the story he had.

”Definitely a trip,” Gio agreed. “Trip” had been a massive understatement that he had made, an adjective that didn’t even begin to say the wreck of an emotional mess he had been since that fateful day. Some days it felt like he was still trying to collect all the pieces that had scattered across the floor. He was better now in many ways, but sometimes he wondered if a piece of him had been lost with Gio’s memory.

Luciano hadn’t known much about where Gio had gone after he’d been discharged from the hospital and they’d given him back the things of his that still remained at their house, so he was glad that Gio vibed with them enough to talk about it. ”My mother did, sometimes. So did my sister, haven’t seen my father at all.” Lui frowned slightly, upset that his father still had this same attitude towards Gio, even though he’d nearly died. He could tell Aline shared similar sentiments as him, except she decided to voice these. “Your father hasn’t come at all?” She repeated with a frown. “What an assh0le,” she muttered.

”I’ve been staying on Annie’s couch, I’m starting to look for a job now, my doctor said I’m making a lot of progress so by now I can probably start going back to having a normal life, kind of.” A smile tilted his lips upwards. “That’s good to hear, I’m glad you have Annie to stay with. And if either of you ever need anything, we’re here,” Lui told him, lifting a shoulder. Aline nodded, the smile returning to her face. “I talked with Annabel a bit when you were in the hospital, she was soo sweet, I liked her.” She said. “Both of you should come over for dinner sometime, I know my mom would love to see you again.”

”It’s a long process… but honestly I’m a lot better now than I was two months ago.” Both of them smiled at this, Aline squeezing his arm gently. “That’s awesome,” she grinned.

”Hey…” Gio turned to him, which he noted with slight surprise. ”Um… can I talk to you in private for a second?” A faint smile graced Luciano’s face and he nodded, looking to Aline who nodded as well, a wide smile stretching across her face. “Yes yes, I’ll leave you guys alone,” she chuckled. “See you two later.” She exchanged hugs with both of them, before heading off deeper into the venue. “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!” She called back at them as she moved off.

His eyebrows shot up and he shook his head, stifling flustered laughter. “To be fair, there’s a lot that she would do so that leaves us a lot of room. To talk. Is what I meant. Obviously. I did not mean that that way erm—ay okay.” He looked away, embarrassed, mentally kicking himself in the head. “Yes. Anyway, did you want to go someplace quieter?”
