She smiled at Kara comparing the attention she was being given as a car crash. “Works for me,” Delilah replied simply with a shrug. To her, any attention was good. If people were thinking about her, then Delilah had succeeded. But Delilah had this outlook because she had never experienced having her personal and darkest secrets out - and that was a kind of attention she hadn’t experienced and didn’t yet know about. And so, despite Kara being somewhat sarcastic about it being in a good way, Delilah actually saw the car crash-type attention as a positive.
Kara had given Delilah the exact reaction she had expected, and the one she wanted, and Delilah had to stop herself from laughing too loudly. “Kara, you can’t even manage to keep one boy in your store,” She replied, potentially referencing the past, still mid-laugh. “Let alone getting it overcrowded.”
After she picked truth, Kara switched her focus to Candice, whom Delilah had forgotten was there. She glanced down in disgust at Candice who had contributed in no way to the conversation and left Delilah alone to deal with Kara. But then Delilah looked back at Kara, who was anticipating a question from her. Delilah wasn’t really bothered about messing with Kara at this point, in fact, she wanted to leave the conversation as soon as possible. So, she didn’t put too much effort in choosing the question, though she still managed to choose one that would potentially throw Kara.
