Luciano Ribeiro
He wrapped her in a comforting hug, warmth radiating from his body. Luciano couldn’t remember ever seeing Tala cry, but he had only known her for a year or so, so perhaps that was to be expected. It didn’t appear as if she was crying right then, but she seemed close to it. Many people didn’t like crying in public, and Tala appeared to be one of those people too, which didn’t suprise Luciano. It seemed they attracted the attention of their fellow students and they jumped back from each other, which deffffinitely made them look suspicious, despite neither of them doing anything wrong. “Yeah, okay, let’s get out of here,” he said, moving to leave the hallway.
He was happy that he had made her laugh, but he recognized that it was a weak chuckle compared to her usual guffaw. Still, he took pleasure in the small victories. “Yes, you’re a ninja goddess, didn’t you know?” He replied with a smile. Tala said she thought she had overreacted, and this admission caused Luciano to furrow his brows. He wasn’t there so he likely would never know the true events of what had conspired that night, but he was confused as to how badly she could’ve overreacted. If she genuinely thought she was being robbed, then Lui thought that any reaction after was warranted. For the most part, anyway. “Even if you did overreact, you can’t dwell on it. At the time it probably felt like an apporpriate reaction and well, I can’t blame you for reacting the way you did, no matter however you did.” Tala wondered out loud why she had decided to walk down that street anyway, and Luciano glanced at her. “You couldn’t have known,” he replied easily. “Don’t go down that hole, this wasn’t really your fault.”
She reacted very violently to that question, and before she opened her mouth Lui already knew that she hadn’t killed him. He didn’t really think that she would kill someone, but the sentence she had left unfinished earlier had caused thoughts like these to dance around his mind. He put both his hands up defensively, regret and guilt littered across his face. “Okay okay, I’m sorry for asking!” He said. “It’s just—you said, ‘He was a homeless man…’ and then didn’t finish so I thought you were meaning that no one would miss him or something—I don’t know.” Luciano wished he could take back the words, as he could feel the slight tension in the air surrounding them. He breathed in and out slowly, shaking his head. “Sorry, I’m sorry. I should’ve known that you wouldn’t… do that.”

Aline Ribeiro
“Partly. He was still being a bit of a d!ck but I can get where it comes from.” Aline nodded, glancing around the shop they were in. “And you don’t have to speak to him again, so he won’t have to be a d*ck near you at least.” She paused. “Unless you had a group project or something. Ha.”
“Sounds like a plan to me.” She grinned, nodding. “Let me know when you want to escape that wife life.”
“Sounds so awesome. Sounds like you liked it.” Aline smiled slightly, nodding. “Well yeah, it’s home still.”
“Sim,” Valerie replied in Portugeuse, with a poor accent. Aline laughed at her attempt, clapping. “Huh, you’re fluent?!” She replied sarcastically, grinning. “Não é ruim—it’s not bad. You’ll get better.” Valerie added, "I will one day, it’s on my list.” Aline smiled at this. “The beaches are soo much better than here. Ah—it’s just so fun there.”
