Luciano Ribeiro
He couldn’t remember the last time he’d been so nervous in front of someone as he was in front of Gio. They’d been friends for a while and he had managed to hide his feelings pretty effectively during that time, but right now, staring into his warm, brown eyes, Luciano was a bundle of nerves. Can he see that? He hoped that it wasn’t too obvious. He wanted to be the cool, calm and collected Lui he always was, but it was very hard to control his outward emotions when he was still bubbling over with excitement about Gio being his number one match. Does that mean he has to be not straight if he’s on my list? His heart fluttered at the mere thought. Or, maybe I wasn’t on his at all because he’s straight.
Gio was kind enough to not bring up Luciano’s nervous energy—or perhaps it wasn’t as noticeable as he thought. No, probably the former. Gio answered the absurd small talk question that Luciano had stammered out, which he appreciated. "Good, I think. You?” He replied. Lui nodded slightly, his eyes darting all around them. Amazing, the best I’ve been ever but also terrified. “Yeah, yeah, I’m pretty good too.” Massive understatement.
Gio seemed to hesitate after Luciano brought up the surveys, which made his heart stutter. Maybe he did get me but he doesn’t like me at all, he wondered, his face falling slightly before he managed to catch it and maintain his expression. “Yeah, it’s a bit of a mess for me too," Gio said, which did nothing to alleviate Luciano’s anxiety. “Oh, haha,” he replied, forcing out laughter. “You get it then. It… got my hopes up, honestly.”
“Um- who did you get?” The question made Luciano falter. He had really been hoping that Gio would tell him first so that he knew whether to reveal that Gio was on his list or not. It would be humiliating if Gio was on his but he wasn’t on Gio’s. Or if Lui had fallen for his straight friend. He paused, racking his brain for a solution before he closed his eyes tight for a moment, praying to God for a miracle. Looking back up at Gio, he offered him a small smile twinged with anxiety. “Well. it’s kind of funny, actually.” No, not funny at all to him but he needed an out if this went south. Taking a deep breath, Luciano took out his phone and opened the message, before handing it over to Gio to look at.

Aline Ribeiro
Aline rolled her eyes, but her fake annoyance was very obviously betrayed by the content smile on her face. “A little bit,” she replied, pinching her fingers together to illustrate her sentence. "But all is forgiven ‘cause you have redeemed yourself.” He had much more than redeemed himself in her eyes, but she wasn’t about to tell him that. The flowers had opened her up to a new possibility of what they could be… though she wasn’t quite sure how that would work since her brother didn’t like him much 'cause of the whole soccer conundrum—not that he liked him much before that even happened—and his opinion remained quite important to her, while also not being the be all and end all of her life. But maybe, just maybe, everything would work out for once.
She stroked the flowers, taking in their velvety feel before looking back up at him. “I do,” she said softly, her head humming with good feelings. Aline couldn’t remember is she’d ever received such a gift from a boy before… if she had, they were usually apology flowers, not flowers that were bought out of the blue. She wondered if they truly were out of the blue or if Dorian had an actual reason for randomly buying her flowers. He playfully admonished her for asking of the reason, and she lifted her shoulder in a half shrug. “You just don’t normally do things like this.” He continued on and with every word Aline could feel the pace of her heart quickening. Prom? What? He hadn’t actually asked her out, but the way he phrased the sentence made it sound like he was planning to. Aline hadn’t really thought about going to prom with him, but she would definitely spend more time pondering the idea now. “Oh,” she breathed, almost at a loss for words. “Okay.” He asked her if she was excited about going to prom, and this brought a smile to her face. “Of course, I’ve been excited since before high school,” she laughed, eyes glittering. “I’ve been planning to go since ever, whether that’s with my friends or with… someone.” Aline grinned, not-so-subtly looking Dorian up and down. “I’ll be there. Hope to see you there too.”
