He laughed at her comment about it being too late for her. “I’m sorry but that just is stupid. You are like what seventeen, eighteen. It’s not too late for anything. Believe me, I know.” Mikel was a little annoyed with this comment she made and sort of thought about getting up and walking away but he didn’t, not yet anyway. “Yeah, sure a job or hobbies. What do you do other than smoke and dwell on your crappy life?” That came off rude he was sure but he was just being honest.

“Yeah…you’re right. Maybe I can fix things. It’ll take a bit, but just maybe everything will be ok. Oh, I work at Starbucks. Yep. I wanted to make my own money, so there we go. I also get discounts, so that’s awesome. I also write music and sing. Obviously you do photography, but what else?”

“Mhm.” He simply responded and leaned forward to retie his shoe before standing up and running his hands through his hair. “I also write music and sing.” “What type? I feel you are into the rock or punk type of stuff. Screamo maybe?” He asked her while turning to look at her and crossing his arms over his chest. “Yeah, photography is my thing. I don’t know I guess I like to write too, not music though.” He thought about how his dad wishes so bad that Mikel would follow him his footsteps and take over the family business that has always been given to the man of the household for years, starting with his grandfather in the late '50s and now his dad. “Driving, I love to drive everywhere and far away and explore to places where no one knows about…Mostly photography though. I collect cameras, all types. Mostly found at antique shops.” He told Ruby with a smile. He was a pretty open boy about things, not his past or feelings but he could talk for hours about the things that bring him joy.

“What type? I feel like you are into the rock or punk type of stuff. Maybe Screamo?” Mikel asked. “Yeah. I tend to write punk songs. I like the darker stuff. Oh, that’s cool.” Ruby said when he said he liked to write. He then mentioned driving, and Ruby grinned. “Oh yes. I’ve been told I’m a reckless driver with horrible road rage, though.” She laughed. “I’m always screaming at people. Why does all common sense go out the window when people get behind the wheel of a car?”

Mikel wasn’t picky about his music, really as long as it wasn’t country he was fine. He knew many singers and songwriters pretty closely thanks to his dad’s line of work and used to party with some of them often, “Ever done anything with your music? Like performed or do you have stage fright?” He joked with a little laugh. “I’m always screaming at people" “Yeah, not my thing. I think driving is relaxing. I am pretty good when I’m not…Yeah.” He stopped talking and looked around for a bit. He was over the school day and ready to go home now.

Jezebel chuckled at Jessica’s description of Mikel. “That would be him.” She smiled at how Jessica would step in if Mikel hurt her. Jezebel paused, frowning slightly when Jessica asked what happened between her and Jordan. She still didn’t like thinking about when they broke up. They were friends still, but it hurt to think about. “Well, as Daniel said, we did start dating. Then we broke up a couple years ago. He was leaving, and it was best to end things there… He had to go, and clearly it turned out great for him. We still talk sometimes, and we’re still friends, but it’s nothing like when he was here.” She shrugged slightly as the waitress eventually came up to them. Then Jessica began to order, and Jezebel just looked at her, unsure how to react to the quantity of food Jessica ordered. Still in a bit of shock, Jezebel turned to the waitress and said, “And I just want some regular pancakes, scrambled eggs, and a sprite please.” The waitress seemed almost relived at Jezebel’s simple order. When the waitress walked off, Jezebel looked to Jessica. “How do you plan to eat that much?”

“Ever done anything with your music? Like preformed or do you have stage fright?” Ruby nodded. “Yeah, I preform. I actually sung a song for the new Alice in Wonderland movie that’s coming out. Do you…maybe want to hear it? I understand if you don’t.” She said, looking hopeful and pulling out her phone. She checked the time, saying, “I should probably get going, so do you want to hear the song?”

“Uh, sure play it.” He said to her while dropping his arms to his sides now. He didn’t have anything he needed to do at the moment so it wasn’t like he had a reason to say no and he did like music. He also didn’t really understand why she said people hated her so much but he didn’t get to know her super well either. “That’s a pretty bug deal to have your song in a movie.”

“Uhh, sure. Play it.” Mikel said. Ruby nodded, finding the song and playing it. She closed her eyes, singing along softly. “Tripping out, spinning around, I’m underground, I fell down, I fell down…I’m freaking out, where am I now? I’m upside down and I can’t stop it now…can’t stop me now!” She sang, getting lost in the music. The song ended, and Ruby stood up. “It was really nice talking to you.”

He listened to her song. It wasn’t really his vibe but she seemed super into it as it played since she was singing along as it played. “Interesting. Pretty cool, good for you.” He said to her and then chuckled a bit at her brashness as she stood up and left quickly. “Bye.” He said as she walked away from him with a little finger wave and shook his head while laughing.

“Interesting. Pretty cool, good for you.” Mikel said. “Thanks.” Ruby said, waving as she walked away. She walked to her car, unlocking it and getting in. She started the car and drove off, turning on the radio and singing along. She made it home, parking and heading into the house. She decided to go running, so she got ready, exiting the house and running down the street.

Seeing the look on his face and his smile only made this moment better, feeling like she was doing the right thing. Feeling the right way. “Really,” she mouthed, slowly nodding while keeping a smile on her face. It was strange to see he didn’t believe her at first, you’d think a guy like him would already know that and be flattered, but it didn’t seem like that. And for some reason, she liked that. It made everything seem… real. Before his whole attitude changed. You can’t.

“What?” She quietly asked with, now, a confused look on her face, loosening her grip on the teddy.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t even process what he said, she couldn’t say anything else because someone else showed up, interrupting them. She didn’t even have to look at the person to know who it was, she knew his voice pretty well so her eyes were still glued on Lyonrad. In disbelief.
Things happened quickly and before she knew it Lyonard was walking away with Daniel following him, right after giving her a hug, which she didn’t return. Not because she didn’t want that - if she was able to do that, she would. Instead, her grip on the teddy tightened again, feeling like all eyes were on her right now and she looked like the biggest fool.

It was hard but she tried to keep her face as straight as possible, not showing any signs of… sadness. But she was, she was sad. Maybe having Dorian scare off every guy that ever tried to get close to her before wasn’t such a bad thing, because this was not what she expected. This was not how she imagined getting close to a guy would feel like. People would think she was experienced with these things but she wasn’t. She always tried to be seen with someone, usually someone that works with her dad, just so everyone would think she was dating someone when she wasn’t. Instead, she was a girl that never experienced love, dating or just simply… kissing a guy. But that was her little secret, no one really knew that and she always wanted it to be that way. So standing there alone, with a teddy in her hands, she tried hard not to let the tears form in her eyes.

What made it even harder was what happened next. As a mix of confusion and sadness washed over her face, she took a few steps back, biting down on her lip. Just minutes ago she had this guy ask her to prom but now… now he was asking someone else with all these amazing things. If things weren’t the way they are now, she would be both jealous and happy for the girl - Kara. But she hated every second of it. If she knew better, she would walk up to them and give Kara the teddy she was holding, because it obviously didn’t belong to Elodie. But if she did, it would only make things worse. She didn’t want people to think she was dumped, this way it might look like it was just a silly gift from… a friend. And if someone asks, she’s just going to say how her good friend Kara had the best promposal. That only seemed easy in her head before Daniel walked back to her, looking rather pleased with what just happened. Or that was just something she could guess because of the tone of his voice since she couldn’t bring herself to look away.

“Yeah, wow.” A smile she had on was visibly forced, avoiding to even glance at Daniel. “The con-” As her voice cracked she tried to cover it with a chuckle, finally shifting her gaze to him, hoping the smile she had on didn’t look as fake as it felt. “The confetti was a perfect finishing touch.” With yet another chuckle, she looked to the other side, taking a deep breath in as she felt his hand on her back and heard his last words before walking back in. Have a good day, she sarcastically repeated in her head, still standing there frozen. But before anyone could get a chance to approach her, she turned around and finally walked in with a goal to find Dorian and get rid of the teddy.
Well, to put him in his car. She did promise he wouldn’t end up the trash, plus he was cute.

“Two rules, don’t go deaf and no heart attacks allowed.” He laughed, glancing over at Gio in the driver’s seat. “Think the first rule is already broken though, not sure my ears will ever be the same.” He joked, rubbing his ear tenderly with a tad of drama.

It was a pretty short drive from the storage unit to his house, it didn’t feel like long at all to him. It was nice sitting next to Gio as he drove, the whole ride was pretty relaxing to him. They didn’t need to fill all the silences, they could sit together with the music between them and it wouldn’t be awkward. He liked that about their relationship, that they didn’t need to have constant chatter all the time.

The car pulled up into the driveway of his house, one that Luciano had seen a couple of times and so pretty much knew to expect. Still, it was a nice house, he couldn’t deny it. Some of their classmates had ridiculously nice homes, but Gio’s was more of a simple nice, which in all honesty, Lui preferred. When he first moved into their house, it was a weird experience because he had previously been raised in a cramped one-story in Brazil and now he had moved into a mansion. The space and privacy he had never really been afforded when he was younger were then suddenly available to him in a plethora. It took a bit to get used to, to say the least. And even now, the ridiculous wealth some of his classmates had… it was extremely odd to him at times. Maybe that feeling would never completely fade.

"It has been a pleasure, thank you for picking Deluca taxi services, come again!” He chuckled at the joke, stepping out of the taxi car after Gio shut off the radio and engine. “I’ll give you five stars,” he replied, winking. “Your service was great.”

Think the first rule is already broken though, not sure my ears will ever be the same.
“You heard they rules so you’re clearly not deaf” he smirked teasingly as he glanced at Lui who was rubbing his hurting ears, and once again turned to focus what was in front of him.

I’ll give you five stars, your service was great.
“Much appreciated” he smirked at him “You were quite a great customer so it’s only fair” he added as he locked the car with the remote key in his hand

They walked to the door leading from the garage to the rest of the house,
Gio opnened it and walked in “house, Lucy, Lucy, house” he said as if he was introducing them “you’ve met before, be nice to each other” he added with a small chuckle and turned to look at lui as he came in after him

“That would be him.”

She smiled slightly at the notion. Jessica really hadn’t kept on top of much of what happened while she was gone - especially not surrounding the lives of her old friends - but she was happy that Mikel had found someone. He used to be so very anti-love that it was refreshing to hear otherwise. Though she noticed the slight change in the girl’s tone when talking about Jordan. Jessica couldn’t blame her Jezebel, however. When Jordan had visited her in London, he displayed the same uneasiness to talk about Jezebel. “Well for a guy who seems to be writing song after song about you - I honestly thought you’d be talking a little more.”

As her order came to an end, Jessica put the menu down and smiled as Jezebel ordered her simple pancakes - laughing at the next question of “How do you plan to eat that much?”

“Are you implying I can’t eat what I ordered?” Jessica asked with a laugh. “Trust me - I don’t waste food. I guess you’ll just have to wait and see,” she responded - taking a sip of water before talking about the more important aspects of lunch. “Daniel’s not doing too well… in case you were wondering. I swear every time I visit he gets deeper and deeper into this hole of self-loathing bullsh*t. Honestly, I don’t get worried about him often… but I’m kind of worried now,” Jessica muttered. She wasn’t usually the type to talk about other people or meddle - but this Daniel stuff was getting… out of hand.

“You heard the rules so you’re clearly not deaf,” Gio retorted, to which Lui rolled his eyes. He was right, of course, there would be no permanent damage to either ear. “Nearly deaf,” he protested, crossing his arms. “Close enough to deafness.”

“Much appreciated. You were quite a great customer so it’s only fair.” His eyebrows lifted in amusement, slight laughter spilling over his lips. “Wow, what a compliment,” he remarked, his lips pulling into a smirk.

“House, Lucy, Lucy, house,” Gio said. Luciano laughed slightly, pulling his hand up in a wave to the house. “Hey house,” he called out with a grin. “You’ve met before, be nice to each other.” Lui nodded solemnly, raising a thumbs up. “Yes house, nice to see you again. Be a good house, okay? Okay.” He patted the wall as they walked.

He walked alongside Gio, taking in the house again as they walked. He hadn’t been back here since they started dating, and now there was a subtly different atmosphere in the house. It was interesting, the weight an empty house could bring. Luciano wasn’t particularly worried about things getting awkward with Gio though, it was Gio after all; he was one of the people he felt most comfortable with. Mostly, he was excited. He was always excited at the idea of spending more time with Gio, but they would be doing an actual boyfriend-y thing, watching a movie. He pulled his phone out of his pocket, tapping on the delivery app and scrolling briefly through the Chinese restaurants before coming to rest on one of his favourites. He selected a few signature items—chicken chow mein, fried rice and a sliced half of a chicken—before he glanced up at Gio, holding the phone out to him. “You want anything specific?”

Nearly deaf, Close enough to deafness.
He chuckled “fair enough” he said and raised his brow at the protesting guy “I’ll make it up to you” he said

Yes house, nice to see you again. Be a good house, okay? Okay.
Gio smiled lightly “seems like the begging of a great friendship between you too” he added with a smirk

You want anything specific?
He raised a brow for a second thinking if he wanted anything specific “don’t think so” he said “I’ll have what you’re having I trust your taste in food” he said with a light shrug and looked at him as he scrolled through his phone.

It wasn’t the first time he has been here, but this time it was different, this time he was here as his boyfriend. Only thinking about fact that made Gio’s heart flutter and a small smile to appear on his face. who would have thought that would actually happen in reality and not only in his head?

He laughed, “You better be, you won’t know when obviously, but You’ll get a great scare hopefully.” He nodded. He wouldn’t get too into bets, but the fun harmless ones were always fun. “Sounds like a deal.” He Held out his hand to shake on it. “Gotta make it official.” Elias smiled along with her. “Hey, I can be nice sometimes.” He joked and held his hands up in an accusing way. “And the cuteness just comes with the package.” He then soon continued after she spoke,”Hold on one moment.” He said grabbing something he had sat down. It was a black cupcake box with a ribbon on it. Inside it was a cupcake and a card saying,’Prom?’. He was never very good at these things, but he knew she might like it. “Ah, well… Don’t feel pressured or anything, but Prom?”

Lyonrad Sei Fulcruth

Lyonrad’s fists tightened as Daniel dared to approach him again… with something to offer. Of course—Daniel Parker doesn’t approach people like him without any better important things to do. His eyes glanced knives on him, about to tell him to leave him be, but he quickly lost it when the boy showed him his phone. How the f-ck-, he looked at it with wide eyes. He couldn’t mutter anything; his mind was blank. First, he had to walk away from Elodie in confusion to his feelings, and now he has to give in to one of Daniel’s little but dangerous shenanigans. What he thought was going to be a good day has already been spoilt for him.

The name of Elodie made him want to look back to the girl he left, but Daniel’s threat was the barrier he couldn’t risk breaking. He couldn’t imperil his reputation, no—even if it meant breaking someone’s heart. He’s done that before, anyway, a lot of times.

But deep inside Lyonrad was the urge to punch Daniel and chase Elodie… though what good will it do now? He’s trapped in his own web, and he couldn’t think of any other way to break it than to play with what Daniel has in store for him. Very well, he thought, looking away to the direction where he couldn’t see an infuriating bit of the little Devil that was Parker. He took what the boy had apparently forced him to take, keeping his sight still away from him. Chocolates and flowers. Of course.

When Daniel left, he let out a small sigh of relief. Though his bad day hasn’t ended yet, the pressure that that short boy of frustration was so big that he could star cursing himself for standing there like a puppy for the duration that he was there. What a sh^tball, he cursed, starting to feel angry at what was happening right now. Rest assured at home, he’ll start filling the house with profanities of great frustration. He’d lock himself in his room—even rage if he could do so.

Lyonrad has failed. Failed miserably. Not just to Daniel, but to his own self.

Confetti rained on him just in time when he saw Kara approaching him, leading his eyes up to the sky where they would widen in surprise at the sight of a promposal. His name was on there, though he obviously wasn’t the one who arranged it. Even in most important people, Lyonrad’s not known for being as extravagant at this.

But of course no one will notice that. After all, what man can be limited when it comes to his love, right? His ears perked up at the sound of giggles and envious mutterings from his surroundings, earning his attention back to the ground. They were buying this act and Lyonrad just couldn’t tell them “No! This is all Daniel Parker’s doing!” The reminder of it maddened him every time.

But alas, he had to come up to Kara… he doesn’t even know her surname. The face he put up was never like every day—it was not as effective as it was supposed to be at all. Handing the flowers and the box of chocolates to her, he couldn’t keep his eyes at her. Somehow, she reminded her of… Elodie. And somehow… he wished this was Elodie.

“Hey… Kara.” was what he could only say, but he managed to make it look more shy than uninterested. What a good actor even in times of blue, indeed.

Dominic smiled at her reaction to the canvas, finding her grin adorable. He hoped that her reaction meant that she was going to accept.

you bet I will

He lowered the canvas, playfully smirking back at her. He was happy that she’d liked his promposal. “Do you know what colour your dress is going to be yet?” He asked her, thinking about if he should buy her a corsage. He knew that if he did, he would have to make sure it didn’t clash with her dress.
