“Why thank you. I greatly appreciate that. Though I must ask, what do you believe me to want?” She asked rhetorically. “Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it to be you.” The sides of Azucena’s lips raised playfully, taunting him about his desires.

He seemed unique to her, with a sarcastic charm that she did not see often. Previously, there were quite a few nobles who had been quite forward with Azucena, both in honesty and generous gifts. However, Cassian seemed to have a skill for conversation, similar to that she read in books. It fascinated her, where did he learn this craft? Has he been in an engagement as well? Or was he just that way naturally? “Specialties, you say. So I assume you would catch me if I were to fall again?” She inquired, “Because that would also be a fair opportunity to seize.”

“Is that so? Do tell me, what is something interesting about yourself and your region?” She asked about his homeland to not change the subject, but in all honesty she was more curious what the man had to say about himself specifically. The way a suitor percieved himself was crucial to her conquest, revealing his character traits. Did he have skills to flaunt? Were they arrogant or adequately self-assured? Did he have insecurities, was he aware of his flaws?

He complimented her contribution to the court, and this time her face did heat up a slight bit. “Thank you,” She replied politely, containing her gush. “I have been visiting for several years now, actually. How is it that we have not met?” Azu asked curiously. She had quite a bit of history with a majority of the nobility, so even if he were not close with her, she surely must have heard of him before.

“Yes, it truly is. However, I suppooose I might save a space for you.” She smiled, attempting to stay relatively hard to get, for it was only the beginning of the season, and she could not give in to a man so quickly. After the past she has had, she intends to keep her guard up, regardless of how much chemistry she and the potential suitor may have.

She laughed, appreciating his chivalry in spite of her lack of grace. “I thought you would never ask.” He took her by the hand, and they began to waltz in every direction. He was easy for her to follow in his lead, and as they stood closer she caught his refreshing scent. It reminded her of crisp apples, an autumnal charm. “I hope I am a bit less clumsy dancing than walking.” She chuckled, self deprecating herself because she felt a bit more at ease now.
