Such word of compliment wouldn’t mean anything to Abigail, had they been said by anybody but Bridget. Compliments mean something to her only from her closest companions because she believes they know her well enough to be the judge of her in that way, unlike when an acquintance compliments her family or her conduct, knowing very little of it. Abigail’s blush in that moment was as soft as Bridget’s smile.
