Dance number 1: Lord Orpheus Langston

Albina felt flattered as Orpheus spoke to her, saying she was much lovely company. It meant a lot to Albina. “I am most pleased to have been able to be of assistance, for it appears this dance has provided solace to both of us.” Albina said with a genuine smile on her face.

Albina really enjoyed their dance, Orpheus was not overly controlling in the dance, like many of the guys were. He granted Albina her individuality in her dancing, not enforcing her to make certain moves, no, it was as if they were moving in unison, with equality. The fact that he had not such an ego he needed to make himself known as the strongest of leaders in their dance, it did Albina good. It made her feel that she had been right in her initial assessment of him.

When Orpheus talked about his clothing, Albina could not help but let out a little chuckle. “That most certainly shows, your attire is one of utmost quality.” She carefully, yet with confidence placed her hand on his shoulders, and let it glide along his arm, feeling the high quality of the fabric. “These golden touches are most exquisite.” She said admiringly about his outfit, while her eyes were once again focused on his. Not only his outfit stood out, but his eyes were certainly to get lost in. They were gorgeous hazel eyes; Albina had never before noticed his eyes in such detail.

Orpheus joking about the wandering hands of old men, it brought some trauma back from last season. She really had felt disgusted after some of the dances she had shared. Luckily, her brother has been sticking up for her, and prevented she would be forced to share another dance with specifically two of these men. Albina was someone who enjoyed being touched, and to touch, but not against her will, or that of the man she would be touching. Touch was special, but among two individuals who each desired so.

“I am certainly of the idea that a rake could make for a decent husband, if he were to be reformed and had a personality compatible with mine, but the idea of an old widowers is most displeasing.” Albina did not mind if a guy had some experience, while not the most respectable, she did not like a lord who was clueless when it came to ladies. “Perhaps amidst this season’s gatherings, we shall discover a few hidden gems, individuals of rare character amidst the number of self-important gentlemen who believe themselves deserving of everything and care not more about a lady than for her appearance. Is it too great a hope to find a gentleman who values me for any of my qualities beyond my appearance?” Those last words she had not even realised were spoken out loud, she felt somewhat embarrassed she was rambling out loud. “Forgive me, my Lord, for I fear I may have become overly talkative.”

“Might you be suggesting, my lord, that your love for music rivals that of Ὀρφεύς, your namesake from the realms of Greek mythology?” Albina fluently pronounced his name in an old-Greek accent, which sounded quite different from the British way she had been pronouncing Orpheus’ name before, and could not hide her enthusiasm about what he had been saying, as her voice was raised somewhat higher than it had been before. “You better not ever cast a glance over your shoulder, who knows what the consequences of such actions for you might be, they might be most undesirable” Albina wanted to show off that she actually was aware of the Greek mythology, while still being authentic to her quite playful self and interaction she had been having with Orpheus this far.

At the moment Orpheus had raised her chin and said: “Who was in front of me”, Albina could not help but feel a desire to share a kiss with him. She knew there was no way she could, not here at least with dozens of prying eyes upon them. The way his eyes met hers, was such a powerful feeling. She let out a sigh, as she had to stop herself from thinking such thoughts. Too much of these thoughts would certainly get them in trouble. She looked at him: “We do seem to be embarking on a promising beginning for this season. This season, our shared dances have already surpassed the count of the previous one, and I must admit, this particular dance surpasses any from the past season.”
