Joana shrugged at his comment of not trying to suggest anything with his question about her family. “Every family has a secret, that’s why the woman of the ton are so fixated on gossip. its the reason I needed to clarify to you as well, words have more power than one can imagine” she spoke before smiling “but aldus is life” she added also as a respond to him apologizing for not taking a lady’s position into consideration. She didn’t blame him, her mama often told her she thought ahead of her time.
As Bainbridge changed invited her to dance she wanted to sigh but held it in. It was no rejection towards him, as he was far from unpleasant in both looks and as someone to talk to.
As he lead her to the dancefloor, they got into position and Joane instantly felt one with the soft flowing music of the life orchestra. They started dancing but as it was one of the traditional dances, she felt stiff and held back. Sometimes she felt herself unconsciously trying to take over the lead purely so she can let her body move the way it wants to.
Joane felt a little bad as he wasn’t a bad dancer either nor a bad dance partner. His shoulders were a little bit about her, making it the perfect hight to get support without losing an elegant
“I apologize if I accidentally try to steal the lead during our dance, I assure you it it’s in no way something lacking on your part. When it comes to dance, music and my body usually find a Harmony on their own, but tonight is not the night to display such movements, although it is still hard to keep it in” she explained with a slight chuckle. She wasn’t ashamed of her free dancing spirit and loved dancing, but not when surrounded by people who do not welcome it, nor does she want to add to the family to be seen as an odd one.
