Tanz mit mir

The moment she put her gloved hand in his, he used the moment to write his name on the dance card tied around the wrist of that hand and as soon as he was finished he led her to the dance floor. While coming closer to the top of the dance floor that was closer to the public, he whispered to her.“I’m sorry if you don’t like prying eyes while dancing, but this position is very clearly visible from where the Queen is standing. My thinking is, if she notices you she will come to you after the dance since she didn’t have an introduction from you, and your troubles of presenting yourself will be over. However, one word from you and I’ll move to a more private position in the dance room, somewhere along the middle where nobody from either end could notice you.” He suggested. As she answered him, he lead them to the part of the dance floor she wanted to be at and they started dancing. To Bainbridge’s dissapointment the music was soft and slow, leading too a much too intimate dance for a first interaction. “This is a very slow dance, it is a shame for I much preffer jigs and faster music. It also leaves us with enough time to talk which is something I don’t particularly care for when dancing. Do you feel the same, Lady Claimond, or do you share my opinions?” He wanted to start a conversation but once she answered he didn’t care for holding a conversation with her, he much rather kept silent and enjoyed the moment, no matter how slow and boring the song choice was. Near the end of the dance he finally made another comment, and it was probable he wanted to compliment her on her dancing before the dance was done and she was gone. “I must admit, you exude enough elegance to make it seem as if you enjoy the dance and you show great familiarity with the dance in question.”. As the dance ended and they found themselves standing and looking at each other, Bainbridge bowed his head as a way of thanking her for the dance, although he would’ve preffered a faster dance, he still enjoyed himself and he felt as if she didn’t enjoy it herself.

“I apologize if I accidentally try to steal the lead during our dance, I assure you it it’s in no way something lacking on your part. When it comes to dance, music and my body usually find a Harmony on their own, but tonight is not the night to display such movements, although it is still hard to keep it in” She said, which made him chuckle along with her. “Lady Claimond, if you had noticed how many times I almost started dancing faster being used to faster dances, you wouldn’t feel as if you trying to steal the lead was any offence to me. If I were to accept your apology I would have to make one of my own, instead I shall tell you there isn’t a need for an apology.” He then advanced to a different point she mentioned "I completely understand. I’ve always loved dancing because on the dance floor we have freedom to release tensions we built up by following propriety and simmilar rules. If all dances would soon become this slow I fear I might have to find another way to relax from all those rules.
