I mean she has been one of the only people he’s even talked to since Lia’s accident. it’s been her, Ade, and maybe on occasion Cassian or assorted other people he ran into
but Belle has been a constant. like I said lol even if she wasn’t talking or didn’t like him, it was someone he knew would always be there and who would always kind of be the same. which is nice for him when everyone else around him seems to constantly change. he’s lost a lottttt of relationships because people suddenly shifted somehow. if that makes sense. so having belle be the same all the time and reliable (even involuntarily) did mean a lot when he was going through like the worst moments of his life (last season)
